I always liked Snell's Law, actually. Aside from being easily understood, it's all about refraction, which wasone of my favourite topics. Yay rainbows and diamonds!

Please be reminded to post in paragraphs and do not write like this: OMG I lik ToDAlly lik DiS GuY and OMG he ToDally liks ME and we kizzed and Schtuff. So ShUD I lik taKe MaH PaUNTS off?

                        It's annoying

I am SO not open-minded when it comes to bad typing/grammar. lol. Nurseman is good for things other than "medical crap" also. *snicker*

All new people: read this thread:What do you consider when replying to a thread?

                            Freshly baked Cupcake! here!

LONG threads. Honestly, unless it's a long-standing member or friend, or it seems a VERY interesting topic, if the initial post is longer than a page I won't bother reading it. Be CONCISE. Tell what you NEED to tell.
What if what's necessary/relevant is like...waaaaay long...because I came here with an extremely long story I haven't posted yet and most people don't really read it despite the lying, crying, sex, etc.. >.<

                              Welcome, Cupcake!

You'd be surprised at how little information is needed for really good advice to come out of it. I find when I read long threads, I sometimes get stuck in the specifics, and lose sight of the big picture at times. Now, you might argue that if everyone were concise, there would be lots and lots of repetition. And that's true! YOU are unique, and so are the specific details of how whatever happened, but the overall structure of your situation really, really isn't. I think it's much more useful to zoom in after we've discussed the overall structure.

Long posts serve exactly one purpose: To allow you to just let it all out. That's really useful in and of itself, and I encourage you to do it, but realize that, counter-intuitive as it may sound, you're sacrificing the quality of the advice you get by giving away too much of the details too quickly.
