She knew what she'd done was a mistake,
Hoping perhapse this new guy would bring a clean slate.
Be a different man, better than her last,
Just too much pain from her torn past.
She fell for the bait just another lie,
This wasn't a better but simply worst guy.
Knowing this she remembered her love,
But knew no matter what their only stars were above.
Of course she loved him he'd broken her heart,
Thats what cause them to keep drifting apart.
She saw freedom with a honest new man,
But again realises they're all in the same band.
She wants her old love to be in her life,
Though she knew he couldn't handle the strife.
It's not a burdon she wants not worth any time,
So secretly she'll keep tucked away her crime.
He didn't want me any way she thought to herself,
He'd made the mistake and left her back on the shelf.
Two lovers are sorry but cant be in hand,
As eternity their blowen away like loose sand.
It's sorry because they keep lieing again and again,
Not seeing if perhapse there is something to mend.
Does she know he'd forgive her mistake?
Does he know she loved him for fucks sake.
Does she ever wish for what was,
Ever at a moment feel to give in to that old cause.
Does he speak the truth or are these still lies?
Does she want to believe the tears in his eyes?
Maybe their moist but they seem pretty dry,
Maybe his still feeding lie after lie.
Tomorrow will come, another day past,
Neither one willing to give in to their trust.
Too many bad memories to haunt such sweet dreams,
Or that is how for them it seems.
Is he sorry for what he had done?
Would he just do it again and run?
Does she feel still for what they once had?
Do the lonely nights still make her sad?
Does he whisper your beautiful at night?
Does he regret not trusting she's right?
Does she lay and whisper I love you,
Pretending his there whispering back to her too?
They both made mistakes doesnt she know he'll forgive?
Wanting so much for them to love and live?
Maybe she's right in theres too much at stake,
Trusting that maybe this time his not fake.
Maybe there is just too much sadness and strife,
Though he still does wish they could be man and wife.
