Hi everybody. I just wanted to see when you all thought it is appropiate to start buying gifts (flowers, etc.) for a potential girlfriend? First date? Second? Third? Thanks.

Small things are cute for the first date. Like a single rose, a small box of chocolates. I woulnd't go all out and get a personal gift until you were exclusively dating for a little bit. But for the first date, I think bringing a rose would be sweet.

Yeah, I agree with Rainne. I might be a little weirded out if the guy went all out on me right away. That stuff'll come in time :)

there IS no time to 'start buying gifts' they should be bought when the time is right. Some guys buy their girl a little trinket or stuffed animal or something for a "one month" which I've always found rediculous but some girls like it, so *shrug*
Either way... I don't think gifts should really be given at all if she's not actually a girlfriend yet.
but gifts when you think they mean something. Get to KNOW what she LIKES. have you noticed she likes... I dunno... weird hair clips. so you see one, and get it for her. she'll appreciate that. does she like movies? what kind? or music? burn her a compliation of songs you think she might like. flowers are nice, but they're tricky. don't get into the habit of getting them for her every time, but then, don't NEVER get them for her either... If you're doing a particularly nice date, they make a good touch.
