For a techie (or anybody for that matter)

Anybody know of any free CD burning software that's any good? I've been using Windows media player for a while, and it just plain old bugs me.

CDR Tools (which is a Linux based burning program)... but download the CDR Tools Front End, which is basically an installer and GUI for windows. I usually can burn whatever I need, although I haven't tried burining a DVD with it.

What I really need is something that will translate the data file to an audio file, and then burn it.

Media Monkey and iTunes both are free and convert/burn CDs. (Though MM only has a 4x speed for the free version.)

I got it free with my old burner, fell in love. I use it now with my DVD burner, and I still make love with it every night.



Most of the free software out there for popular things like CD burning is full of spyware and adware. I know, because I am fighting a losing battle with the malware on my PC from my brother and his wife using it while I was in training.

The tool I linked does not have any spyware or such.
