View Full Version : The Bane of Menstrual Cramps...

I never knew that daily orgasms relieved menstrual cramps.... (through masturbating or having your partner help you).
It works like this: Compare the uterus to a big muscle. If you don't exercise that muscle for a month and then start strenuous exercise out of the blue for 4 hours. Then it's just gonna kill...
When one starts her period, the uterus has strong contractions causing these cramps. So by... exercising... cramps are kaboom!
Has anyone experienced this phenomenon? :)
Does anyone have any tips on how to relieve those cramps when you do have them? Other than:
- actual physical exercise (sit-ups)
- hot compress
- mentrual pill
- sleeping (?)
- fetal position
(or have I covered all of the tips?)

SSA's solution to period pains:
1. Take painkillers
2. Curl up in a little ball for 20 minutes and wait.
SIT UPS?!?!?! Who in the world would do sit ups when they had period pains?
I dont think that's true, I used to masturbate to orgasm a lot a couple of years ago, and I still had awful period cramps. Going on the pill has helped a lot though.

Yes sit-ups... my mom and others tell me that sit-ups are great for relieving period cramps... but I guess you are thinking more how you would be in too much pain to do them :)
(yeah... I mentioned your ideas in the topic... curling up in a ball is fetal position btw...)

I too have horrible cramps. I've been on birth control for awhile because they got so bad, and it has helped, now I only have cramps 2 days out of 6, instead of 6 out of 6. One thing I've noticed that also helps is drinking milk. I've heard that calcium helps, and they say take TUMS because of the calcium. A few days before I'm supposed to start my period I drink milk with every meal (I'm usually not that crazy about milk) and I drink it often during my period, and take TUMS, and it does help. Try it!

Having orgasms and masturbating during your period and about one week before you start your cycle really does work well for cutting down on cramps. My cramps were reduced down considerably when I started having sex, I guess it was because we done it on a regular basis.

Sex...
Yes, I said it. Sex will greatly relieve your cramps if you are willing to deal with the mess it might make. Between the heat generated, the internal massaging, and also the orgasms...how can it not help.
Think of it...it's like a hot pad, a massage, and masturbation all in one!
Okay, it's 6:30 AM and I have yet to go to bed and KnappyOne is keeping me up. I am really weird right now and probably not making much sense. Screw him...I'm going to sleep.

Ugh, my god...I am DYING from this pain!
my problem? can't swallow pills. definitely doesn't help the situation. This is like the first time I've ever had cramps this bad.
I can't even THINK about sit ups, Lana. heh. And being in the fetal position would just kill, too. ugh. I hate being a girl sometimes.

I'm a pill kinda girl  Just load me up on painkillers and I'm usually ok. If not, I'm usually in the mood to die so I like to lay on my back or side, straight. Curling up makes them worse...oiy.

Julia, I feel you on the migraines! I'm in the beginning stages of one right now...it's messing with my vision.
Personally. I guess I'm lucky. Only once in a while do I get cramps. And they are usually fleeting (don't last long).
I've heard that drinking a lot of water also helps. Again, I don't know.

I know the milk part is true :) But you have to drink a lot of it BEFORE your period. Sex and plain orgasming definitely works too.
Ewwww... headaches and back/neck pain... I hate when I get that...

I see this has been bumped from long long ago!!!
Hmm, if you can't swallow pills (I don't understand, loads of people say that, but how can you NOT swallow pills?!?!) then why not just try soluble painkillers? They taste like shit as you'd imagine, but hey, tis better than period pains!

liquid tylenol works nicely, works fast, lasts long time...tastes horribly nastiness! for those who don't do the pill thing, that is. if you don't swallow pills, try it again...maybe you can this time. I like advil because it's small, so give it a try!!

I curl up and crush a pillow against my tummy. I hate cramps. One of my friends said stretching really helps 'cause your uterus is all cramped up and stuff. It does actually help. Trying lying with your back on a chair or pouffe stool or something and stretch your legs and shoulders off both sides of it. It does help. Otherwise, doping up on painkillers is a sure-fire way for me.
When I was on holiday in Oz I came on, and tried some swimming in the hotel pool. That eased them a bit, but not that much.
