:wall: I needed to go to my university to get things ready for class on Monday BUT south Florida is suddenly under a hurricane warning. It really just snuck up on us. Two days ago it was just a bunch of clouds. I didn’t even know that we were under any kind of watch until yesterday when I went to fill up my gas. Long lines...urg. Then some fireman started talking to me about how we were caught by surprise by this storm.
I went this morning to get supplies. I got water. Oreos. Tuna. ABCs 123s. Trash bags. Paper towels. Pb & j and a loaf of bread. That should be enough.
::sigh:: the next 48 hours will be hell. As this slow storm moves on shore and I’m stuck home with my mom and little sister. Oh gosh. I guess I’ll be on this message board a lot for the next 2 days.

You're lucky it's not "Hurricane Kuky" =). (hey, if you had a hurricane named after YOU, wouldn't you be rooting for it?)
Get that Kim Chi soup, it's really good. And granola.

good point. :) I'll never understand people from the North who travel to Floride in the hurricane season and then complain when they're stuck in some shelter and say "Our vacation is totally ruined!" Well, REALLY!! what kind of idiot travels to florida at this time of year for sun and beaches?

I did last year. Was going down to Florida to see family and have summer vacation. The first hurricane hit on my birthday (Aug 13th) and I showed up on the 14th. Flight got in and the first thing I went and did was help some friends clean up their home. That summer was hell but fun at the sametime. I went without sleep for 2 or 3 days. There was just so much that had to be done that there just wasn't time for sleep. ZOMBIE. Anyway it can be fun there!

What's even funnier is when you have people on the news whose house got blown away for the 12th year in a row, and who still say they're "shocked"... Haven't they ever read the three little pigs?
