this is awesome! I'm in my living room but at the same time I'm on the internet!

It's an HP Pavilion, AMD Athlon 64 bit, 512 mb ram, 100 gb hd (about 93gb accessible with about 85 left), 128 video ram.

I'm happy, it was ~1150 USD with a 150 rebate. My parents covered 550 and the tax (they are getting the rebate so it's like they covered 400) and I'm paying the rest on my brand new best buy credit card haha.

I kind of wanted an apple, but overall I'm very happy with this choice. The only iffy thing about this is that the CD/DVD drive (it writes both, too :-D) is really flimsy and doesn't eject automatically, but it was at a great price, so if I'm careful, I don't see it particularly being a problem.

Awesome, my HP (zv6000) laptop should be here in a few days!

AMD Athlon 64 3500+, 128MB ATI RADEON, 1GB RAM, 60GB 5400RPM and an external 200GB 7200RPM, DVD+/-RW Drive

I think it's $1250 after some rebates, so...I'm pleased.

*points to own thread* I got my laptop too! We are computer buddies! Now, granted, mine won't connect to the internet in the house because we don't have wireless, so that automatically makes you cooler.....but still!

Our laptops can have HP/Mac babies! Aw....how cute!

Laptops are convenient =).

But I've decided to stick with building my own box from now on... that way, those morons at Dell/HP/Compaq/anywhere-else don't lay their fat, A+-certified fingers on it :).
