drinking games

so I'm having a few friends over tonight to consume my handle of vodka and i want some new and mroe exciting drinking games to play with them...right now I'm just thinking Drunk driver, Kings Cup, Ten Fingers, but theres nothing too original there! So please share the ones you like here and explain how to play!

Also, does anybody have a recipe for a good punch?? Two of my friends arent big drinkers so taking straight shots isn't the best way to go...so if you have a good one that you like I'd be really appreciative to hear that too...

Pick a somewhat common word, and watch TV. Every time someone says that word, take a drink.


Punch - Just make your ordinary punch and put vodka in it. More vodka = more drunk.

my friends and i made a complicated drinknig game...it's like war, you know, the card game where you both put down a card and whoever ahs the higher card wins.

well, in this game, you can have as many people as you can have cards for, whoever wins the round takes a drink. if the winning card is a face card, the eprson can desingate somebody else to take the drink. (i normally pick myself) if you put down a joker (jokers are in) you take 2 drinks automaticly. if someone runs out of cards, everybody at the table pitches in a few cards and the game continues. everybody wins because everybody gets really frekin' drunk! :bounce:

Read around and look for some good rules, and make your own. I've done at least five variations of drinking games with cards. A friend of mine added during one of these that if you swore, you took a drink. Doesn't sound like much, but it's a lot harder to stop yourself from doing once you start. Here's one sort of game that I played before:

Joker - New rule
Ace - pour into the cup
2, 3, 4 - the person drinks, the appropriate (increasing) amount
5, 6, 7 - make someone else drink all or divide it up between people
8 - hand in the middle, last one drinks
9 - waterfall (everyone starts, stopping in a counter/clockwise pattern to the last person)
10 - social
J - rhyme
Q - category
K - nothing, whoever draws the last king drinks

This is just an example.

The two-finger rule works for people who aren't particularely hard drinkers -- get them a beer or something and they have to drink 2 fingers of it when they mess up.

"International drinking rules" are always good for a laugh.

Everyone has to drink with their left hand (which gets annoying and ignored, so we don't usually do that one)
No swearing (it's harder than you think)
You can't say "drink" or "drunk" or "drinking" etc - usually ends up with people frantically saying CONSUUUUME!!
No first names - surnames are okay - or bizarre nicknames -- especially good if you're with people you don't know very well - try remembering surnames when you're drunk
No pointing with your fingers - use your elbows instead :D
No false accusations... if you accuse someone of breaking a rule and they haven't, you drink

My fave drinking game in the world is 21 (the one where you count in a circle and replace the numbers, not the card game), but I can't be bothered to explain the rules right now, maybe tomorrow.

That, and if Full House is on at Nick at Nite...we play the Full House Drinking Game. Drink whenever Uncle Jesse is on the screen, drink two whenever Michelle says "You got it dude," drink three when Uncle Jesse says "Have Mercy," drink 4 whenever Jesse does an Elvis impersonation, etc. You can basically make up the rules to this one to whatever you want. And you can do that with any show...but it's fun to do it to really shitty shows from the early 90's/late 80's.

The fist game is always good (no clue what the real name is)

2 people face each other, with their fists clenched. player A says a number (0, 5, 10, 15, 20) and opens some hands as appropriate (can leave both closed, open one, or open both). Other player does the same. Player who yells the number wants to get it right (so sum of fingers = number yelled), player B tries to mess him up (but it's gotta happen FAST, like pretty much randomly). If player A gets it right twice, player B drinks. If player A messes up, roles are shifted. Some games last several minuites, others mere seconds.

A good vodka mix is 2 parts lemon lime gatorade, 1 part vodka, and then some red bull.

It keeps you awake, AND really really drunk. And the red bull masks the flavor of the vodka quite nicely.

Person 2 takes a sip, says word from person 1 and adds a word
Person 3 takes a sip, says words from person 1 and 2 and adds a word
...
...

If someone makes a mistake, another sip and a new round starts.

Depending on what you're drinking, after 10-20 minutes it gets impossible to play.

A friend got me a set of drinking games a while ago, and our favourite one is one you can make yourself. Take 4 shot glasses, and label them with different kinds of booze. Ours are labelled "vodka", "tequila", "rum", and "liquor", with that last one being a choose-your-own-adventure type glass. Next, take a bouncy ball. Sit in a circle, and put the four shot glasses right next to each other in the middle of the circle in a :: formation. Take turns trying to bounce the ball into a shot glass. If you get it in, you get to pick someone to take a shot of whatever's written on the glass. It's great, because the drunker you get, the harder it gets.

I know that this is different, because we always drink beer, but you could play with punch.

We play beer pong almost every single night. We make 2 horizontal pyramid out of 10 cupseach and put them on either end of the table. and its 2 on 2... you make a cup, the other team drinks it. Theres a lot of other side rules that are simple, but its the BEST drinking game ever... well, its a close tie between pong and kings

the ones i know that are fun for me are taiwanese drinking games...

one is rock paper scissors...
and the winner points up down left or right
the loser points his/her head in one of those directions...
and if that direction matches the winners... take a drink.

playing with two players, you use two hands, both of you
one person says one of the five numbers
and both opens or closes one or both hands right when the person is saying it
if the number matches the number of the fingers
then the person who didnt say the number drinks

both games go pretty fast if you know how to play it
usually we set up like 20 shots
then play until all shots are done

the winner decides who drinks and what beverage (all alcoholic of course)...we also play with chips so there's betting and everything, and you can "buy" people shots : force them to drink by paying them

usually it takes about 10 rounds before everyones totally wasted

The Name Game:

Each person has several long drinks / pints / whatever in front of them. First person says a name of a famous person eg Tony Blair then the next person has to think of a name begining with the first letter of that person's surname eg Ben Affleck. You continue round the circle. If you use a name like Marilyn Monroe with same first letters it reverses round the circle.

ALL the time you're thinking you have to keep drinking and if you repeat a name you do a shot.
