Awesome! In my opinion, VW's make very good cars. I have had a Jetta GLI for almost 2 years and I love it!

Nice, how much did it set you back?

That is a fucking gorgeous car. Love the color, and I've always been a fan of VW's styling. That new-car feeling is great, that's for sure.

Congrats!

Now don't put a wing on it or a fart can or a "cold air intake" that sucks in warm air and doesn't do crap except make your engine louder and give you .5 hp and pretend to be the fastest thing on the streets.

Sorry. haha.

MMM, very hot. I've owned 3 VW's in my time, and I'd love to have a gen IV. I'd totally go get one, but I can't imagine spending $20k on a car right now.

Fortunately.... the dealership owner is a member at the country club that I work at, so he cut me an awesome deal. $3200 down, and then 270 per month for the next couple years. Its a 22 thousand dollar car, so Im pretty much stealing it.

... and dont worry Bob... I won't do anything stupid to it. :)

what if they put the intake in front of the radiator? you come to saskatchewan, half the year that will be a damn-cold-air intake.

a nice car, though i'm not a fan of VW's

Nice!!!

The newsest car I've ever had was... 11 years old. It looks nice, I don't know anythign about VWs, but a new car has got to be a good thing!!

My friend had a brand new car - had all sorts of things - like a refridgerated glovebox (that's the little compartment by the passenger seat, if it's known differently outside of England). His dad bought it for him, insured it for him, paid tax, mot, the lot. Unfortunately, he had an accident... n his dad made my friend pay out of his own money (£3000+, that's about $5000) because he didn't want to make a claim on the insurance. I didn't know what to think about that.... the damage was a nasty scratch of the paintwork - if it had happened to me, I'd leave it.... it's superficial. But I guess if your parents buy you a new car and pay for it, then what are you supposed to do?

Uh.... random rant against spoilt kids... sorry!

Is that model turbo-charged? I'm not as familar as I should be with VWs.

Also, as for intakes, there is "short ram" which is actually better for a turbo car than a cold-air intake. A cold air intake will have the piping go practically all the way down close to the ground....the filter wont still be up in your engine bay, but lower down to get cooler air....hence "cold air" intake.

I would freak driving an automatic...

It's all what you are used to drive... I would love an electronic manual gearbox like in rally cars. I know Ferrari and maserati and high end mercedes cars have them but that's way above my budget.

For now I'll just drive my bike...

you on about triptronic gearboxes (sommat like that) with the buttons on the wheel? a lof of cars in the UK have those, and they're just rn of the mill cars - not the high end stuff.

yes ma'am. Turbo indeed.

I have had it for a month now, and I have gotten very good at adjusting to manual trans. It's an amazing car. I will never ever own another automatic car (if i can help it) again. :)

ahhh I drive a 2001 Jetta in black myself, 5 speed. I will never go back to an automatic (well, at least until I start getting old and decayed). Sticks are so much fun...you'll love it once it becomes natural to you. :)
