Hey kids, Clive here with another music question (at least I hope it's a new music question, I can't remember if I have asked it before...)

What are your favorite vocal combos, be it a one time duet, a group of singers, two people in bands, etc.?

I am not necessarily wondering what you think the best of all time are or were, just what are your favorites? I'll kick it off...

I absolutely love the way Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt's voices compliment each other in Green Day. Mark and Tom in Blink 182 don't really have similar voices at all, but I love the way they go together when they sing together. I can't remember the name of Metallica's old bassist (their second after the first died, now they have the new one from Ozzy's touring band) but he complimented James really well when he sang back up. Before I developed my intense disgust for Good Charlotte, I would say that I loved the way the Madden brothers complimented each other, but then again, they are twins, so they are cheating! That's all I can think of for now, go for it!!!

The Barenaked Ladies, hands down, have some of the most awesome harmonies ever.

Brand New also have some pretty rockin' dual vocals going on, good examples being "The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot" and "Me Vs. Maradona Vs. Elvis."

Clive, that Metallica bass player was Jason Newsted, and he complimented Hetfield beautifully (and actually out-sang him). Now Robert Trujillo is in the band.

A few of my all-time favorites:

David Lee Roth and Michael Anthony in Van Halen (1978-1984) - that sound is unmistakable, never mind Ed's brown sound.
Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrell in Alice in Chains, before "Tripod" (their self-titled third CD), where Layne's voice was largely double-tracked thanks to his shooting up lots and lots of heroin.
Hugo Ferreira and Todd Whitener in Tantric. They pull off some great harmonies on their songs After We Go, Falling Away, and Change the World.
Gary Cherone and Nuno Bettencourt in Extreme. Both have similar ranges and complimented each other perfectly on just about every album.

Hm... Ace makes a great duet with many female artists like Melissa White and Christine.

Anyone ever heard of them? =P
