so, me and an ex went for a walk today and i figured i might as well get some shots. i always love the thought of taking pictures of stuff, so here's the results...and the explanations to go with 'em. these pics average somewhere around 65kb

when looking at these, consider that these were all taken within walknig distance from my house. i live in saskatoon, the largest city in the whole province of saskatchewan, but we're not on the outskirts of the city or anything. much of these are within 10 minutes walking distance. of course, i'll probably do other picture sprees that show off the rest of saskatoon.
#1 - This is just at the end of a...what's the term...cul de sac. you know, a residential street that is a dead end. except this dead end is...well, open prairie really.
#2 - this was to the left of the first picture. same spot though. i think that was a grain elevator way off in the distance i tried to center on.
#3 - this was a candid shot of me my ex got while was walknig down a hill
#4 - a shot of the river...i don't realyl like it though, i hate seeing my shadow in there.
#5 - yeah, me again. i kinda plopped down into a snow bank for fun, and she decided to take a pic
#6 - i amde my ex psoe for this one, i personally think it turned out alright...i think i could've done better if i was more patient though.
#7 - a nice shot of the river. i'm not sure what the building is supposed to be, but it's all alone on that side of the river.like, really. it's that building and trees. that's it. kyla took this one. (my ex)
#8 - we were walking along the path, and i figured this would make a nice pic kyla took it.
#9 - this was a little stream we found that came out of some drainage setup. kyla took this one too
#10 - this is actually one of my favourites...partially because i took it and kyla had no idea why. that building is actually the wastewater treatment plant for saskatoon and area. there was human excrement beyond that fence. ltos of it. and it was open to the air. damn did it stink. but the waste water plant is right in the middle of this 'park' thing called the meewasin trail...it spans all the way through the city pretty much.
#11 - another one kyla took. just some ice in the river.
#12 - this is another that i took. you know those drains at the corners of the streets that take all the rainwater away or runoff from your sprinklers? well, in saskatoon, that's where it goes. but (obviously) it's winter.there's a few inches of snow on that, the rest of that is ice. and to kinda give you a bit of a scale to work with...that hole is about 5 feet in diameter, give or take about 6".
#13 - another one from me. you know that little cement wall thing jsut past the storm drain in #12? well, i stood on that, turned around and took the picture. somewhere under that snow, there is probably a small little channel of water.
#14 - i thought this was just amusing. that would be a fire hydrant in the middle of all that snow.
