Why is it called the The Missionary position?

Supposedly because it was what missionaries said to be the only true Christian sexual position... possibly based on the Jewish idea that Adam had two wives; the first one wishing to be on top during intercourse but was not allowed to, and instead she was bannished from Eden,.

it has NOTHING to do with the bible. it was called that because the missionaries of old (yes they were christian) went to tribes and tried to educate them, and one thing that said was that that was the way to have sex.

they call it missionary because they were missionaries.

the bible has NOTHING to do with it. no where in the bible does it say whch positiion is right.
