So, I'm upset. The movie that is dear to me, that I love with every fiber of my being...lost everything. "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" won nada. Probably for the best...it was up against a lot of good competitors. None the less, I am heartbroken. It was up for Best Screenplay (Charlie Kaufman), Best Actor in a Musical/Comedy (Jim Carrey), Best Actress (Kate Winslet), Best Movie of Musical/Comedy. So very sad. However, I'm glad Sideways won in Best Movie...it was comical but appropriately depressing at times as well.
Did you watch? Are you upset with any of the outcomes? Do you care??

I'm not sure who won everything...but the wins for Closer? really weird considering Sideways got everything at Critic's choice. Oh, well. I was disappointed that Julian McMahon didn't win for Nip/Tuck, too...as well as Joely Richardson. Sadness. Nip/Tuck won Drama though which is cool(though they beat lost), and there were some nice Desperate Housewives and Arrested Development wins. Good stuff.

Yeah I really hoped ESOTSM would have won something, Jim Carrey for sure I was hoping would have won. I havent seen The Aviator or Ray yet, I hate Leo DeCaprio.. absolutly despise him, so I wasnt happy with seeing him win.

But, he was really good in the Aviator, especially in protraying such a complex person in history.

...I'm perplexed as to how someone could hate another with absolutely no personal experiences to back their opinion. I doubt you have some.."real" reason to hate him, but if you do, please share, because it'd have to be worth us listening to.
Haha..you despise someone you don't know. You need to prioritize and use your time thinking about something different.

award shows don't do anything for me, i know what i like, and i don't care what academy or group of people or morons voting on the internet think of the movies i love.
besides, i completely lost faith in them when lotr's wins damn near everything and it was just okay....

I'm not in the Leo Dicaprio fanclub as well - he's been known for his exploits with prostitutes and hookers and even in last night's interviews, his objectification of women was apparent and appalling. None the less, I haven't seen the film yet so I can't judge him for the award.
It's appalling that Eternal Sunshine got nothing, though I was happy to see Nat Portman earn something for Closer.

I was glad to see that Desperate Housewives won and The Aviator won.

And it was about time that the Academy recognized the trilogy!(IMO)
Anyway...It was sad to see ESOTSM not win anything, I found that movie to be so unusual, brilliantly creative & touching. It doesn't surprise me though that DeCaprio won. I believe that he has the potential to be a critically acclaimed actor(setting aside his personal life, which I don't give a damn about), but he's just made so many bad choices over the years(like 'The Beach'). Teaming up with Scorcese had to be a good decision though.
No one takes the Golden Globes very seriously anyway. The actors want to have fun now..and then in March for the Oscars that's when they all get scrutinized.

What really started my Leo hating was when he refused to go to the Oscars when he didnt get nominated for best actor for Titanic. It was about the only category Titanic didnt get nominated for, so he sat out. Even though they got nominated for like 10 awards, he sat at home and pouted. Poor baby.
Now, if he had sat home and pouted because it was one of the most over-rated movies of all time, well thats a different story, I could have accepted that.
