I know of a guy that I am sort of interested in who is selling his car.

After seeing the advert for the sale of the car I am tempted to sms him to express my so called interest in the car however I have no idea of how to go about it.

Anybody got any ideas of what I could sms him?

Don't post the same thing in two different forums. Post it one place, please.

I like your av by the way. My roomie has that picture tacked up to her loft.

Anyway, you could possibly just say that you're interested in coming by to look at the car. Are you even going to buy it or do you just want to see the guy?

I accidentally posted it in 2 forums.

It is a nice av!

I am interested in the car to a point if you know what I mean, but it's the guy that I am more interested in so I need well should I say I want to be to do in a subtle way.

how do you accidentally post two threads? someone should close the other one.

::reviewing your situation::
a guy you are interested in is selling his car. you are not interested in the car but think it might be a good way to meet him.

well i'm not into play games and running around in circles. if i were you i'd just talk to him straight up and not use the 'i want to buy your car' thing.

but if you really want to do it that way i guess you can just talk to him first about the car online. (i'm assuming thats what sms is.) see if you can meet up to see it. maybe say you two can check out the car and get lunch. some situation that involves not only looking at the car.

Thank you for your reply.

I'm not that good at posting on forums, I was doing numerous things while I was posting and didn't notice that I had put it in two forums because when I refreshed my page my topic wasn't there.

SMS is short message service - text messaging.

Playing games is not what I intend on doing but I am not the type of girl who is straight to the point.

I have been told by others that he has an interest in me but he hasn't and neither have I for that matter exchanged numbers (although we haven't been in close contact to do so) to take anything further so I thought that it would be a good opportunity in a round about way of getting into contact with this guy in these circumstances.

What do I say to him if I do sms or meet him considering the situation - I'm supposed to be "interested" in his car when technically I am not.

I'm agreeing with the whole 'playing games' things.... but sounds pretty innocent so will ignore that.

I'd just say that you're vaguely interested in the car - the beauty of SMS is that he's not really going to expect anything long winded or detailed....
So, say you're looking for a car but you're not really sure if you're able to afford one at the moment - make your excuses before you go to see the car..... that way he won't be that surprised when you don't buy it.

For the american members of the board - sms is where you send a short text-only (well technically, can have pictures, sounds, vids etc but I don't think that's what she means) message from one 'cellphone' to another. It's very popular over here and most young people use it rather than making a phone call

Buying a car from a guy you like smells like a really bad idea. You are very vulnerable - he could easily rip you off.

And if you don't buy the car, but want to go out with him, then good luck! It's a major hassle to sell a car, and he might get the idea you've been wasting his time and weren't even interested in the car.

If I were a guy, I would be really pissed off, unless I really liked the girl. And probably even then. That kind of stunt would even make me lose interest in a girl I kind of liked.
