View Full Version : Boiling tea spilled on a very, VERY sensitive area

Ok, I spilled boiling tea on my crotch just an hour ago in the car.
I don't think I've ever been in so much pain in my entire life, and when I went to "inspect the damage," so to speak, I noticed a white mark on the head where the burn is.
Put simply, how do I deal with this?

As long as it isn't a 3rth degree burning, keep it dry and give it enough air, some anti-burning cream could help too. I would go and look for some baggy pants and large boxer shorts or none at all.

I don't have a penis...but if I did, I wouldn't put burn cream on it! Since it's such a sensitive area, I would just let it heal on its own. Wear loose clothes, like sunfrost said, to prevent the area from rubbing against clothing. I've had my share of burns on my hands/arms from being in the kitchen, so I will warn that it will take over a week to heal up completely and that it may leave a scar. Otherwise I don't know what else to tell ya except to choose iced tea next time.

Do the american thing and sue the water boiler manufacturer that heated the water so much  (sorry... HAD to! You KNOW that!)
I'm not sure what a white burn mark means exactly, but it might be a good idea to have it checked out. Odds are it'll just heal fine with proper care, but you never know.

Yikes. I'd wait a couple days and see if it heals. Reminds me of the time in my friend's car when I spilled a huge cup of Burger King coffee right on my lap(the lid was off and I was tryin to put sugar in when the light turned green & the car jerked forward). Anyway, my jeans didn't save my crotch from the near boiling hot coffee. So hot, that at first I felt numb. And then lots of pain.:P No scars though.

the white mark is probably a blister, meaning you've got a 2nd degree burn. It's probably a good idea to leave it alone... the fluid in the blister cools off the skin underneath, which lets it heal. If you do drain the blister, it opens it up to infection.
Don't put any burn cremes on it; those are usually oil-based, and trap the heat inside. All in all, not good news. Also, they tend to slow healing.
Finally, wear loose clothes, give it plenty of air, and (if need be) bandage it LOOSELY to prevent anything from rubbing on it.
Hope it heals well!

Yeah, what everyone else said.
And even though I don't have a penis, I just want to say OUCH!!

Try it again, it might reverse it...
Or use anti-burn gel, Neosporin, a possible bandadge to prevent abrasion...erm..and maybe a visit to your doctor?
Oh, and..drinking tea naked? Or did you just dump it down your pants on accident?

I'm pretty sure I mentioned "in the car" in my original post...and no, I don't make a habit of driving around naked.
It spilled on my pants, but alas, regular pants and regular underwear seemed to be no match for the opressively intense heat of boiling tea.
Anyway, thanks for all your replies. I've calmed down a lot now, I put some hydrocortisone cream on it and the white mark is now a much darker colour. It's noticeable but it isn't painful anymore. It was tender all day yesterday but now even the tenderness is gone.
I'm hoping the mark will go away in a week or two. Again, thanks for all the replies!

I would personally use aloe. It wont trap heat inside, and though Im not sure how much it could atually help, it most certainly couldnt hurt seeing it is natural.

I don't know why people insist on believing that, but there are plenty of 'natural' things out there which will definitely hurt you, and hurt you badly. I'm not saying that aloe is one of them, but 'natural' doesn't mean 'safe' by any means.
(that said, I'd go for a natural remedy over a lab processed one, any day, but natural remedies require lots and lots of research and working through the 'fuzzy' sources)

Just to point out the logic fallacy in this statement ... belladonna and foxglove are both natural ... :P

yea yea yea. sorry totally phrased wrong. But in saying that, i meant that aloe is pretty much as safe and natural as it gets.... and can sure feel good on sore skin.
just ignore me. bla bla bla.

Just wanted to let everyone know that it healed completely, and in record time!
It scabbed up, and then I gave it a few days, and then just picked the scab off and now it's as if it never happened. :)
That hydrocortisone cream must be magic.

Keep it loosely wrapped in gauze and put lotion on it to starve off any infections that may occur. I suggest against popping the blister, but if you do, make sure you go in from the side instead of from the top of the blister--this will aide in preventing an infection.
Look at the bright side, maybe that will give you a battle scar to tell stories about...

You ate the scab, didn't you?
Anyways, in the same vein (the main one!) as this thread, I've noticed a small cut on my own penis. I haven't the faintest idea how I got there, but the skin around it is drying out, cracking, and flaking off. wtf?

tell your hand to lay off for a week and let the friction burns heal.
