Special Thursday night showing of the Saw was shown tonight, so I decided to go. Oh man do I now wish I stayed home...I still feel sick.
Basically the movie really isn't THAT scary. The story is pretty bad, but I don't want to reveal anything [for those interested], but there are a lot of twists. There are a lot of "open the door...BOO!" type scenes. But overall, I only jumped a few times but I was never holding the armrest in fear.
INSTEAD, I was holding my stomach. I wouldn't call this a slasher, its too realistic. I'd call it an over-the-top turture film. Blood and gore in almost every scene...and its all EXTREMEMLY graphic. Don't even get me started on the last 20 minutes or so...people where leaving in numbers because they couldn't take it. Not like they didn't leave during the movie though, 9/10 of the girls were gone before the first hour was up.
Oh yeah, and to top it all off, there's a "nice" torture scene that involves a child...it was extremely disturbing.
But in regard to Halloween movies...perfect...you see this movie and you might not want to go to sleep. Not because you were scared, but because you don't want graphic images of people getting brutalling tortured in your mind. Not to mention a sadistic clown riding a bicycle...*shivers*
