Approaching a girl

Ok, heres what i wanna know. When im in school, if i see a girl that i find attractive, would it be weird of me to just walk up to her and start talking to her? I mean, yeah, i know i can't tell whether i'd like somone or not by just looking at em, but i wanna start meeting more people. I'm attracted to this girl in one of my classes but i don't know anything about her and don't know if shes got a b/f or whatever. How should i go about getting to know her? Should i ask her some question about something in class? Im just trying to think of a way to initiate conversation without it being weird.

It might be weird for you, but it happens all the time. You just need to be confident enough to do it.

Here's one way. Sit next to her. Ask her how the assignment is going. Easy. I mean, if you are reasonably friendly then what's wrong with that?
