Do you guys (and girls of course) think its a good idea dating someone in your class? I mean you would see a LOT more of them. You wouldnt have to organize to see them. I guess you would be expected to "hang out" with them and her friends during breaks too.

I dont know...

Back in 7th-12th grade, that was a huge no-no amongst most of my classmates, because if you break up -- you're going to be in each other's face all the time (well... 11th-12th grade people seemed to only date other IB people, but surprisingly, not very often people who were in any of their classes).

I personally don't think it's a taboo, but I wouldn't do it, myself. Not really for the breaking up factor, but because I'd never have any time to myself, school time is not "quality time" and yet it may seem like you're always together but never actually "together", lots of potential miscommunications over who's friends one chooses to be with and why --unless you're already a part of the same friends' circle etc and have a good bond and know you're understanding of each other.

that's one of the concerns I have with the guy I'm interested in. We're lab partners. so VERY close quarters, knees touching etc. when we're working together. It might be fun if we're see each other, but imagine if we broke up!

It's a very difficult place to be in. I think you have to think that if you DID break up, would you be able to still see each other every day?

What's the worst that can happen?

If you're worried about breaking up and feeling awkward for ages afterwards, I think that is a weak excuse. I'd rather try, and fail, and feel awkward, than not try at all.
