need help w/ a date situation on a budget...

so i'm taking out this girl and i have a VERY tight budget....

It's her bday, so i figured i would take her out to a place like tgi friday, make her a bday card, get her a rose from my garden, get her a little gift, and take her apple picking. the reason why i'm not getting her a nice gift is cause we have only been out 2 times.

thoughts/suggestions?

well i was thinking of something like a little stuffed monkey, she seemed to like it when we were in the toys r rus a couple weeks ago

that sounds cute. beacuse its nothing too big. and it shows you thought about it b/c its not a random monkey.... its one you know she looked at and liked. i give it a thumbs up.

yeah i'm not cheap, just broke right now. i figure dinner will be around 25, apple picking around 6 and gift another 7, so i'm looking at $38. i know its not sweeping her off her feet, but oh well.

You don't need to be Bill Gates to give your girlfriend a good time. 8) I think she'd have a wonderful time if you did all that for her. I know I would enjoy something like apple picking, since it's not something you do everyday. :biggrin:

slight change in plan.... i was thinking of setting up a scavenger hunt, and have it lead back to a picnic at night w/ candles and stuff.

If you've only been out 2 times then a night time picnic lit with candles may be a little over the top. I think it would have freaked me out a little if my b/f had done that after our 2nd date.

The other ideas are good though.

its only our 2nd date, but we have known each other for over a year, and we're always talking on the phone. besides, its her bday, so it calls for something special. can always take her to a restaurant for another time.

ya. picnic might be over the top. and might be hard to pull off. but if you can then i guess go for it....?

edit:: well if its for her and you know each other well .... good. go for it.

i dont think a picnic is over teh top, maybe get some nice sandwhiches and soda offset by a candle or two. so it looks romantic w/o being excessive. But I still have to work out the logistics of the plan.
