competing wiht another girl!

I have acquired a crush on this one guy. I asked him if he'd wanna go with me to a party and he said that would be cool. So I was all excited. However today I saw some girl standing by his door. When I walked by again, the dry erase board on his door said "I came here looking for you! Come visit me! ~christina" Then I realized I had seen him walking to a party last weekend with the same girl. Should I give up? If I should keep pursuing him, how do i compete with this other girl????

After I postyed this i kinda thought that maybe she is just some friend or something. I too have guys here I just hang out with. Maybe should i just see how things go at the party (if he goes with me)?

The guy refused my offer to go to a party, the girl is a huge flirt and i have gotten back together with my ex, so this guy dosnt matter. He's just a cool friend now.
