So has anyone seen the new almost famous MTV Pimp My Ride, in which people send in vidoes of their cars requesting that they be pimped out by a famous rapper Xzibit, and his helpful shop West Coast Customs. I've been watching it for a while, personelly I like cars so ya. Its a cool show I think. Only thing with it that I think is funny, is the fact that every car that they modify and pimp, seriously looks like its made for like some black pimp or something, with the huge chrome rims, and body paint. others look like little ricer cars haha, But the people seem to like them so. Yep its a cool show, if you haven't seen it you should check it out

I've watched it a few times, but I'm still wondering why they invest so much money into putting accessories and electronics into those cars. Who needs a game system built into their trunk area? Nonetheless, if I had the opportunity to go on that show, I would cause my car could use some bodywork

Um...that show is kinda stupid. Why put fish, coffee makers, chandeliers, etc etc in a car???
Sorry Minimus, but that stuff is useless in a car?

Yeah this show has been on for a lil while now...it's not wonderful, some of the things they do are a little outrageous, but it's entertaining...I do end up watching it usually, it's fun to see the end result. And how those guys can take literally the whole thing apart and then put it back together...that's crazy!

What's really funny is how many of those Pimp My Ride cars end up for auction on eBay.

I like the show, but one thing I always wondered about was if they actually work on the engines of those cars? I mean we see them painting, and changing tires and adding TV's, so are they fixing or dropping a new engine in those beasts as well? Otherwise the cars still suck lol.

Made a thread on this before a month or two ago.
Also, its cheap crap they put on there. If you want a good version of this, try 'Overhauling' on TLC. On pimp my ride they dont touch ANYTHING in the engine, anything. So you have all this crap running on an electrical system that is 20-30 years old. Im not saying they dont do a great install, its just going to take its toll over time. And hurt the car more then anything.
On Overhauling they do all the same stuff, but more. Much more custom parts, they will replace engines, struts, axels whatever it takes. 10x better and more professional.

It was great when they had that honda Civic and changed the doors to have them flip up lamborghini style...

Yeah, Overhauling is a great show. They completely remake the car with new and otherwise unattainable parts. Foose also does one hell of a design job for all of the cars he's worked on for that show.
