Well since I'm getting a new computer soon I just might be able to meet the system requirements...Yikes. 256 MB of RAM and at least 3.5 GB of hard drive space.
Blah..but maybe I'll get it for xmas though. I'm a sim nut, always have been. I remember when I used to play Sim City 2000 for hrs on end. Only my(now 5yrs old) computer can't really handle The Sims games and all their expansion packs...
*can't wait for her bday present* :cool2:

I am sooo jealous...i want to play that game so bad but my stupid ass computer doesn't have a good enough video card for the game to work. Anyone know how expensive it would be to get a new video card?

The game can run with pretty much any major card released within the last three years. If you have a lower-end video card, you need a 2 GHz CPU to operate it (probably because of the high load from software mode). Assuming you want to run it decently, an ATI RADEON 9200 would cost ~$50 USD.

Hmmm, these requirements are cake for this beast. I might end up pulling it from the network.

I'm amazed how well this game sells amongst women! There usually arn't as many games that women will play but the Sims, for whatever reason, is one of them.
However I'll never buy it, if the Sim character ever surpassed what I've done in my real life I'd go nuts lol. Maybe one day when I'm 50 and have achieved at least 90% of what I want, I'll install the sims and play around with the fantasy lives of fantasy characters, but untill then it's still flight sims and War games for me!

The Sims 2 takes everything to a different level. Its crazy. And the women actually go through pregnancy, each trimester being one day.:P I'm not sure if I like the idea of everyone growing up so quick(adults turn to elders in like 30 days, teens to adults in 15)...but you could actually stop that if you wanted to(in the cheat window though i won't use that). What I really love, and has always loved, is the building part. I used to spend so long building and playing around with objects sometimes that the people were an afterthought...but not in this game. And once you start making a sim you'll see what I mean. If you wanted to make an exact replica of yourself you could with all the options they give you. Everything from the width and length of your nose, to the shape of your jaw, to the pucker of your lips...anything can be modified. And once you create a family you'll be amazed at how they treat each other. With the awesome graphics the interactions are so much better now then before...Even though the Sims speak in their own gibberish language, you always comprehend what's going on...*is amazed*
There's also a lot of possibility for hardships, failure and death. Which always makes it so much more fun. :cool2:

Oh yes! making the Sims is the best part! I love it! So many options and you can make your own, too (for like custom colors and stuff)! I learned not to give them a romance aspiration...ugh. One of my guys wants 10 different sims at once and "public woohoo". My favorite aspiration is Family. or Knowledge, that one's okay. I LOVE IT. Totally worth the money. I'm addicted already.

hrmmm, I didn't know they pushed the date back to the 25th. Like I said, I reserved it in August, and at that point it was said to be shipping on the 16th. Oh well, been waiting long enough, what's a little more wait?
