I recently finished Kingdom hearts and LOVED it, and I wondered when I heard about the sequel if Square was going to go the way that Konami did with the Suikoden series and let you load game save data from the previous title, does anyone know?

the next technical sequel is chain of memories for GBA, but there should be another coming out for PS2

Kingdom Hearts II PS2 (http://www.gamespot.com/ps2/rpg/kingdomhearts2/index.html?q=kingdom+hearts)
I don't know what data you would get, maybe the stats that Sora had before? It is possible, but there wasn't much from my save that I would have really wanted to drag over to the next.

well, I see what you're saying, but, did you ever play the Suikoden series? you'd get little extras with the story if you played the previous titles and loaded the saved data, but you had to do everything a certain way for it to work, in this I'd assume you'd have to have something like, all the trinities activated, but you're right, there's not much I can think of right now that would carry over, aside from stats. But then again, I had no idea what the data from the Suikoden games would bring and there were nice little tidbits here and there that made it all the better when you played it, including having some of your old friends back at level 40 rather than 7...
as for the sequels, I know about them, I just wondered about the data. The two games you mentioned are actually both sequels in their own right. The one for GBA takes place one year after the original title, while the one for PS2 takes place two years after. Anyway, they both ought to be good.

Kingdom Hearts was a great game...except for the end boss.
LAME...and easy! Oh man. Sephiroth was WAY harder, and the reward for beating him rocked too (sweet, sweet satisfaction). ^^

sephiroth wasn't hard at all, but anyway
I don't know about extras in the Suikoden series, but in the silent hill series if you had 2 data whenyou played 3 you got a few extra cut scenes
they could throw something like that in there. maybe more into the extra video you see if you get all the puppies.
