I dont care who you are.. if your in the 18-24 yr old range here, you probably had that albulm didnt you? thats one ill bring out every once and a while and I can sit there and just let it play and enjoy it and know the words to every song.

I remember it because I was on a hockey team that was just a real workhorse team, we were unstoppable. They even brought a select team over from Russia and USA that we played. Owned them! haha and every game as we were getting dressed and ready, this was on the entire time. Then we had a couple for our warmup at home games. Damn good times.

It just seems that everyone no matter what music they like, had this cd, and it was RIGHT around the time that CDs were starting to become popular. It was my 2nd cd I ever had (other then Nirvana Unplugged)

So, who here had this albulm?

Dookie was the first album I ever owned.

Green Day (along with Weezer and Nirvana) are what really got me into music.
By the time Nirvana came and went, I still wasn't fully aware of the art of music. I didn't get into it until around '94, when this album came out, I heard it playing in the local HMV and I just HAD to have it.

When I took up bass (my first instrument), the first bassline I ever learned was Nirvana's Lithium, and the second one was Green Day's Longview off Dookie.

To this day, no song can get me as pumped up as Welcome To Paradise.

Hell, that whole album was fantastic. Basket Case was awesome, When I Come Around was practically an anthem during my youth...and the track right after F.O.D was the first hidden track I'd ever heard. I was like, "Woah, what's this, another song? Awesome!"

I can't believe that was over 10 years ago. Man, now I feel old.

I still have my original Dookie CD from 94, and I love it. Hell the ring tone on my cell phone right now is an actual mp3 clip from Basket Case! lol. It wasn't my first CD ever but it was close. I got my first CD player for my birthday in September 93, and my first CD was Mothers Milk by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I had Nevermind on tape along with a few other bands and it took me a few years before I bought the CD versions of a few of my good old tapes.

Anyway, Dookie was and still is an amzing album, and I to remember that everyone had it and liked it, even those few kids in my class who were in to Snoop Dog and Dre had this CD!

It was my first album on CD I purchased. I soon fell in love with Greed Day.

And yes I still have my original copy of it, to keep it preserved I just rip it into mp3 and reburn it if I want it on the go.

Favorite band of all time.

i've never had an original copy :(

which doesnt mean that green day wasn't one of my seminal growing-up bands...as i suppose it was for anyone in our age range with a little taste

and another one : the offspring...

I have it on tape, lol. I remember listening to it all the time, and knowing the entire album off by heart. As a matter of fact, I found the tape a few weeks ago and it's currently in my car so I can have something to listen to if the stereo reception is bad.
