I decided to make a thread for some of my pictures, hopefully I will keep it updated :) Feedback welcome :D
I'll keep them all as links and have mercy on those with slow internet (I only have 30k on a good day).

Clear Creek (http://www.deviantart.com/view/8374201/)

This is the creek I used to go camping near every year. I took the photo on my Pentax ZX-M using 400 speed film. I apologize for the graininess, it's not on the actual photo but is caused by my cheap scanner :P

Azul (http://www.deviantart.com/view/8172229/)

This is our cat, and I've always had trouble getting photos of her eyes to turn out because she inevitably gets the absolute worst case of red eye I've ever seen. For this photo I used no flash and focused just on her face, I thought it turned out pretty well though the depth of field is a bit dodgy in some places.

Sunrise (http://www.deviantart.com/view/8158526/)

The sunrise as seen from my porch on an early summer day.

Edit: Bah bad links, I will fix them. Edited again, they're fixed but now you have to see my DevART site, sorry.

Will update when I have more to share!

Yay :D

Here's a couple more:

Sunset (http://www.angel.ifsz.net/images/misc/Scan10010.JPG)

I took this at the oregon coast a few weeks ago. The sunsets were so beautiful. Taken on my Pentax ZX-M.

Camping Cat (http://www.angel.ifsz.net/images/misc/CampingCat1b.jpg)

We took our cat camping and she was scared to death, so she hide under my dads shirt most the trip o.O

Nichole (http://uci.net/~sassycat/gallery/albums/family/HPIM0058.jpg)

My beautiful niece :) Lighting was really poor and I was without flash, but I thought it turned out pretty nice anyways.

Bah, I thought I would be going to bed soon, but now that I've been on DA, I'll have to look at all 26 of my awaiting devwatch deviations :P.

On the cat picture, I think it would be better if the focus was a bit farther back to try to blur the fabric on the left side of the frame, but otherwise it's quite nice. The second cat picture is perfect.

The sunrise is beautiful, an amazingly seamless panorama with nice lines.

The sunset is even better, with good composition and just the right amount of lens flare. I'm impressed that you got such a perfect exposure when shooting into the sun. Did you meter a neutral area of the sky?

Are you sure you didn't have a flash in that picture of your niece? It certainly looks illuminated (note lack of shadows, and highlights on hair, nose and lips), and she has red-eye, which is almost exclusively caused by flash. Anyway, if you're right, that's an impressive picture for difficult lighting conditions.

Bah. Sorry. If you're watching my scraps, as well as my deviations, a goodly number of those are prolly mine. I uploaded a whole shitload of stuff.

Anyways!

Flash is overrated. :) I avoid it whenever possible, cause I just don't like how it tends to wash out a scene.

I agree it is far from a perfect photo, this was right after I got my camera (my first manual one) so I had no idea about depth of field and all that, not that I am much better now

I metered it while looking a bit beside the sun, as I couldn't hardly look through the lens directly at the sun without my eyes watering. I was quite surprised it turned out as well as it did, I was worried I'd just wasted a good portion of the roll of film that would turn out all bleached out due to the brightness.

Pretty sure as I just bought a flash recently (I'm pretty new to photography) and my camera doesn't have one. I believe I opened the door behind us so there was a little more light, but the red eye would be from flash usually o.O She has very blue eyes and they always go red with a flash. My mom was snapping photos at the same time, I guess it's possible I took one as her flash went off? Unlikely but that's a possible explanation.

Thanks for the great feedback!

Yes, I think there were 6 or 7 things from you on there. I'll forgive you though, cause art is much better than sleep ;).

I looked at at least half of the things waiting for me last night, but I'm getting a bit of a backlog... too many good deviants to watch! And I keep forgetting which deviants are which, since most of them are random finds, so it's hard to figure out which deviations I want to look at and which to put off for another day. At least I always know when I see the writing icon that I need to leave it for a time when I'm more awake ;).
