Ummm... I usually don't have music in the background... But, just anything with a beat that kind of flows or is sweet and romantic... Anything from ATB - "Obsession" to Linkin Park - "My December" to Nine Inch Nails - "Closer"... It depends on the person you're with, and if you want lovemaking, sex, or fucking, y'know?

I haven't tested this out quite yet, haha, but I would guess that romantic type.. preferably slow and down really low would be best. Otherwise, it might be too much of a distraction haha.
I must say that music is nice when you're doing anything sexual, hehe. :D

If you wanna break the bed, no music. However, if you want "passionate" go with the slow music. That was my vote.

Different types of music work for different things. It all depends on what kind of mood you're trying to set. Personally, I would really like to (one day) have sex while listening to "Obsession" by ATB, or "Chemicals Between Us" by Bush.

I have another reason why I like music in the background during things, because I'm weird like that :) It gives rhythm! Hrm. Maybe it's just me.

Are you serious? If so, : : high five : : I get going with either metal or jazz (I know, wierd combo), but those weren't answers on the poll. Slow romantic stuff makes me want to vomit (no offense intended to anyone). I can't imagine getting it on with that stuff playing.

Not a weird combination at all... I know lots of metalheads who like to listen to a bit of jazz when getting "in the mood". Heck, one of our (Sweden's) more famous power metal guitarrists plays in a jazz band when he's not touring with his band. 8)
Metal rules. :)

ATB - "Obsession"
YEAH! I've never had sex...but that song is perfect for anything physical like that. When I first heard that song...that's immediately what I thought. :)

Any music is fine (not metal, yuck), but it has to be quiet. it's nice to have a bit of background, but it's not something to focus on, it's more something to help you forget about the rest of the world. Wow, that sounds really cheesy :D.

just some chill music--nothing mushy *barf*--just something that takes your mind off of everything else that's happening in your life and gives things a little rhythm, my boyfriend and i prefer, for example:
anything Dispatch!, especially "Bridges" and "Carry You"
anything John Mayer! especially "Your Body is a Wonderland"
U2!!
Counting Crows
Phish
Jack Johnson
Howie Day "She Says" and "Morning After"
OAR
Guster
Louis Armstrong and Miles Davis sometimes are awesome too

You guys are probably going to think my boyfriend and I are nerds for this one, but we often play video game music. No, not like sound-effects sort, the calming background music that's in some games. Just basically a score, it kind of makes you feel like you're in a movie. Kinda cool, IMO. 8)
Just out of curiosity, which games would those be? Seriously, this sounds interesting :)

Is the music really that important? Don't you have other things to worry about :-? ?

I'm sure it could help set the mood. Imagine doing it to Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get it on" as opposed to dead silence. Sounds better to me. Not that I have any experience (I wish).
Oh yeah, I just realized I didn't answer the original question. If I had a chance, I'd mostly listen to smooth jazz while in the act. But, like I said, I don't have any chances to get in the act anytime soon.

In Anglo-countries I think that's considered Hard Rock (in Sweden all types of Metal and that kind of thing falls under the category Hardrock -or as we say here, hårdrock).
Very nice choice indeed... wouldn't mind some AC/DC myself... or Black Sabbath... or the Rolling Stones...
