what is the hottest thing about someone (non-physically) that could make you attracted to someone you might not normally be attracted to?
when someone isn't afraid to b their own person. i'm shore by now all of you know my obsession with a guy named matt. hehe. this obsession was formed for the sole reason that he's so damn unique. he wears fucked up suits all the time, paints his car fucked up colors... anyways. being confident with yourslef = GOOD. nothing is a bigger turn off then hearing a guy say "i saw this really dope shirt.. but i didnt get it because people mite think im wierd wearing it"
and another question:

smile, i kinda go crazy when my crush smiles at me, any crush for that matter...
what is the hottest thing about someone (non-physically) that could make you attracted to someone you might not normally be attracted to?
I like a sence of humor. Simple as that, as well as a personality... somebody who can be their own person. Like they don't always have to give in to the majority.
taking from all your experiences, what is ONE (or two, or three ) facts which almost on their own could score you a date?
Be yourself, be confident... there is no real secret to getting a date, it's keeping the relationship going that is the trouble, at least for me
(I'll answer my own question) what are some things you should try doing during your first date to make a good impression?
well probably stuff like open doors, pay for things, pay compliments, but not too many...

What's "cute" to you? Hmm. I don't know for me, because things between my girl and myself aren't exactly based on things that are "cute" or whatnot. But whatever. I guess it's the way she never lets go of me. For example, I used to smoke, and I still do occasionally (when I shoot pool). She'll find anything to refer back to that, but I know she's joking. We'll be taking a stroll at night and I'll make a joke that I'm tired, and that'll get her started on the whole smoking thing. Aish. But that makes me smile... and so do a lot of other things she does.

I've recently found out that a person's mind can draw me into them. Ice (my girl's nickname from me) has a very philosophical mind, and often she challenges me mentally and it's great, because I get the chance to exercise my mind too. It's not everyday that I get to think like that, being that my friends aren't exactly capable in the level. And she's different from anyone that I've been with. Well, I guess they're all different, but she stands out. The little things like, how she won't let me walk on the right side of the street sometimes (walking on the sidewalk, guys are supposed to walk the side closer to the road). And things like that. Oh yeah, and her tendency to be difficult. SPAM***REPORT THIS POST NOW***SPAMSPAM***REPORT THIS POST NOW***SPAMSPAM***REPORT THIS POST NOW***SPAMSPAM***REPORT THIS POST NOW***SPAMSPAM***REPORT THIS POST NOW***SPAMSPAM***REPORT THIS POST NOW***SPAMSPAM***REPORT THIS POST NOW***SPAM sushi... (yes Ice, I know you're reading this).

Nyne is right. Be confident with yourself. However, it's not only that confidence. You have to be comfortable in that confidence. You have to be comfortable with yourself acting that way. But I do disagree with Nyne on one thing - well not exactly disagree, but a clash of opinion. Nyne goes after a guy, thinking that she will get him. I go after a girl... well, I don't, actually. I start flirting with a girl thinking I may get a date, but that's all it is at the beginning. If she returns these signs or whatnot, then I push it further and see how it goes. Thus I won't be disappointed if I don't get a girl, because then I already have someone else in mind. But then again... that was me and now I've changed. *shrugs*

my boy and I can talk for hours about the most serious things, analysing literature and stuff like that. And yet we can have these completely silly, inane conversations about nonsense, too. But sometimes when we're hotly debating some big moral issue, I just have to stop and shake my head and be like "Damn, this boy is deep... and smart..."
what is the hottest thing about someone (non-physically) that could make you attracted to someone you might not normally be attracted to?
their mind. show me that you think about things, that you read, that you philosophise, that you have convictions on important things. be INTERESTING.
and another question:
taking from all your experiences, what is ONE (or two, or three ) facts which almost on their own could score you a date?
well, I'm not really sure about this one. But most of the people who have ever been attracted to me that I know about have been so because of some of the things that I mentioned above. I'm an obsessive reader. I educate myself nonstop on things that interest me. I keep track of the important issues going around in the world. In other words, you can have a conversation with me that isn't about high school social bullshit. And I pride myself on that- being someone who is interesting to talk to, and someone who sticks out from the crowd because of who she is, not because she tries.
what are some things you should try doing during your first date to make a good impression?
don't be afraid to smile and laugh when you feel like it. MAKE EYE CONTACT. brush your teeth! if you're going to a movie, make it a good one (I once went on a first date and the guy took me to see Dude, Where's My Car? that was kind of like a bad fortune cookie for the rest of our relationship. shame). ask each other's input on things- in other words, don't have one of you just pick the kind of food or the movie you're going to see. That's disaster when you get to an Italian restaurant and discover that she's allergic to pasta or something. Overbearing chivalry is not necessary if it's not in your nature- if she holds the door for you, let her, don't get all pissy and offended if you can help it. Don't put on a front- she said "yes" to a date with YOU, not some imposter. if you meet her parents, be nice to them! don't drive like an ass... *rambles on*
by the way, "she" and "he" are fairly interchangeable here, I'm just far too tired for gender-neutral language right now. :P
that's a lot, so let me sum it up: Communication. Be yourself. Use common sense. Engage in personal hygiene.

It drives me crazy when he does his own thing and doesn't go out of his way to flirt with me... but that's not cute. The cutest/craziest-driving thing is probably just little things with cute guys I don't know (that make me have a crush on them)... Like today this cute Italian boy (exchange student party) who I hadn't talked to at all came in from outside and his hands were cold so he was like "lemme borrow your hands" and then the took them and just squeezed em tight to warm his hands. I mean it was just a way for him to warm his hands but it was cute b/c I didn't know this guy. Or I was playing pool with this other guy and I suck at pool but when I got a decent shot that just barely missed he would always put his arm on my shoulder and say "ohhh good try, very nice shot" (he was a pool master - plus I hadn't met him before that either)...
what is the hottest thing about someone (non-physically) that could make you attracted to someone you might not normally be attracted to?
interest. when he is (or at least seems to be) interested in me or what I say it really sways me into liking him. for instance a few months ago i was at a local concert and i asked the sound guy (who looked my age) what song he was playing (it was after the show) and he told me and I was like 'oh yea i recognize it' so then i was turning to walk away when he was like 'do you like them?' and i was like 'yea sorta i havent heard that much' and he was like 'do you come here often' etc. etc... 'whats your name' .... unfortnately my friend dragged me a way to go to perkins and I've never seen him again :( but yea... INTEREST gets me Interested.
taking from all your experiences, what is ONE (or two, or three :D) facts which almost on their own could score you a date?
being myself and being comfortable. in the past i sometimes, in my youthful ignorance when it came to relationships, i tried to force myself to be 'what he wanted' ... sexier/sluttier, sweeter/more romantic, girlier (different instances)... but it never worked - it was unnatural and i was always concerned with what he was thinking about how i was acting ('should i step it up a notch?' or 'am i overdoing it?') ... the secret is to just go out and be yourself... there are enough guys/girls out there to go around and each person will find their match(es).
what are some things you should try doing during your first date to make a good impression?
talk. lots of times in my nervousness and my tendency to date shy boys first dates have been horrible (part of the reason why i've had so many short term dealies and no SUSTAINED/CONSTANT long term). at a dinner or walking around you NEED to talk. talking is KEY. no talking = awkward = no fun. that's why i like movies - especially intriguing ones (or even really dumb ones... well not HEAD OF STATE - that was too horrible it made us sick and nobody wanted to talk about anything) because then afterwards there is a lot to discus (esp how it could hve been a better movie or just all the lil stupid things if it is a dumb movie).

what is THE cutest thing your crush does, which just drives you crayzee?
Well for most girls it's all the three things. One is their playfulness, two is their attitude, and three is their laughter. By playfulness I mean in a more physical manner (not sex). It's not about them playing games, but something you can read in their eyes (it's hard to explain, but I know it when I see it). It's on the tip of their nose when they laugh, and the eyes just read as if they are in the Elysian Fields. I don't know how to explain this, but it's also in the way their nose moves when they are being playful. It's just that I guess I'm always so philosophical, and so deep minded, that I look for a mate who is more carefree in order to balance me out.
Also this is usually a side note, but I've noticed over the years a distinct sense of smell that happens when I'm actually attracted to a girl. It's not like a specific smell gets me off. But rather something I've just noticed. That the girls I'm attracted to, always leave me with a sense of smell that I long for in the future. If that makes any sense. I could just be a freak =P
what is the hottest thing about someone (non-physically) that could make you attracted to someone you might not normally be attracted to?
Well physically it's all in the walk and what comes out of her mouth. If a girl can hold a really intelligent conversation, and on top of that can walk away and make me drool, than I just melt.
and another question:
taking from all your experiences, what is ONE (or two, or three :D) facts which almost on their own could score you a date?
Well for me, girls are usually attracted to me because they think I'm deep and really smooth, which I've yet to figure out. I've had a lot of girls tell me that I'm really smooth, almost to the point at which they don't know whether I'm being serious, or just toying with them for my amusement. As for deep, well I know that I like to think about the bigger questions in life almost always (I just find that kind of thing enjoyible). But smooth I've never understood. I make no attempts at doing so, and I usually just say whatever I feel is the right thing to say at the time. But I get it a lot, so who knows maybe I am (but in all honesty I make no attempts to be so).
For a girl there are three things that if they are all there grab my attention almost immediately. One is a good butt. I mean if a girl has a good set of hips on her, than I'll usually be looking. Now this doesn't mean she can't have a chest, but I actually prefer a B or C cup over a D any day of the week (it actually all depends on body size), it just has to look right. Physically as an artist, I imagine myself painting her. If the lines flow right on her body I'm attracted, if they don't, well than I'm not.
But the thing that seals the deal is what they do after the initial attraction. If they can hold an intelligent conversation about a subject that they are only mildly passionate about, and then on top of that, delvier a playful attitude. Than I just melt on the spot (I imagine myself thinking, now don't melt till she walks away and is gone. Don't let her see you melt. AH DAMMIT here I go!) The other thing that does a lot for me is eyes, nose, smile, and freckles. I love freckles (and we won't go into how red hair will make me act like a fool anyday of the week^^).
this question comes from Wrightman84
what are some things you should try doing during your first date to make a good impression?
Well for me, I'm a more refined version of myself (by that I mean I hide who I am in an effort to focus the conversation more on her). For me the first date is actually all about my impression of them. I toss out little tests of my own. I basically am seeking to find out how they'll respond to different things. I use the word tests but this isn't really the right word for it. Instead I gear my conversation towards making them feel comfortible enough to were they are just themselves. Because ultimately I'm not after who they want others to think they are. I'm after who they really are. Once again I am all about taking the path less traveled, and I find that seeking out the true personality of someone is really honestly one of the hardest things to do.
The other thing I like to do is involve some sort of dancing. I personally am a big fan of swing dancing. But this is yet again another test. If the girl can't dance and doesn't want to learn (the learning part is key, because it shows their playfulness). It's almost as if she's not really interested in being ont he date. Remember I gear everything to making it relaxing and fun. My first dates aren't about starting a relationship, as much as they are about just making that night fun to remember for the future (and that doesn't necessarilly include getting laid). I'm more refering to making it just something that they think, wow that was a fun evening.

A sense of humour, preferably a sense of humour similar to mine (what can be a bit crazy at times). Anyone who can make me laugh is halfway there!

If I know that they are close with their family, and have at least one pet thet they are crazy about. That says a lot for me, and would make me want to try going out with them to see where it could go.

Be attentive. (For guys) Open car doors. Dont necessarily go for it on the first date, if you walk a girl to her door, smile at her, tell her you had a fantastic time, give her a hug, then leave, she will want you so much more than if you went to move in for a kiss on the first date. Also, send them a text message really soon after, like within an hour, just to say you had a great time.

Actually, I have this thing where I'll admit to my insecurities. I don't let them overcome me to where I'm down all the time and talk about them too much, though I will be honest to guys I'm close to just being who I am. I'm not completely confident. I might be a less then confident, but I don't give myself a hard time about it. I just do things as I do them whatnot. I haven't had a hard time having guys like me, which is probably because I'm not trying whatnot. So I guess the being myself part is acknowledging my insecurities.

I just talk to a girl. That is usually all it takes, and she is hooked. I have a great personality, and I have a silver tounge. I have a knack for saying the right thing at the right time. Seemed to work pretty well on someone for a while, then I stopped talking, and she moved on. LOL

Ian makes this face when we're together some times, that just looks sooooooo innocent, and I love... LOVE it. He has these nice blue eyes and rosey cheeks, so it adds more to that cute face of his.
what is the hottest thing about someone (non-physically) that could make you attracted to someone you might not normally be attracted to?

SMELL GOOD. Wear deodorant and bodyspray/clogne, and look well groomed. No girl wants to be seen on a date with a guy who looks bad.

What is THE cutest thing your crush does, which just drives you crayzee?
When he looks me directly into my eyes, not necessarily cute...but it is definitely captivating.
What is the hottest thing about someone (non-physically) that could make you attracted to someone you might not normally be attracted to?
Intelligence is a big thing for me...and honesty...I like it when someone doesn't feel the need to be fake around me.
Taking from all your experiences, what is ONE (or two, or three icon_biggrin.gif) facts which almost on their own could score you a date?
I love a sweet guy, sensitive...a gentleman. But in general I'll give a guy a try just based solely on the fact that he was even brave enough to ask me for a date...I get sick of being the initiator of everything. (This is all before I had a bf, of course.)
What are some things you should try doing during your first date to make a good impression?
Not talking about yourself the whole time. Show interest in what the other person is interested in...but don't fake like you know what they're talking about when you don't. And plan out a nice date for that person, find out what they like and organize accordingly.

Banter, if she can make fun of me, and more importantly herself I'm hooked! .
taking from all your experiences, what is ONE (or two, or three :D) facts which almost on their own could score you a date?
Looking into her eyes. Never break eye contact when talking, and my make your eyebrows express what you want them too. 90% of your facial communication comes from the eye region.
what are some things you should try doing during your first date to make a good impression?
For me, it is to be myself. I'm a total goof, and will undoubtedly make a fool of myself in some way. Given that, the only thing to do is to take advantage of it. I've learnt to laugh at myself.
