I gotta say, that movie is a such a great way to ease some of the pain of a break up.
I've always a had a place for movies like this; ones with the "realistic endings" and not so much of the lovey dovey, happily ever after sort of endings. (Dear John being another example)
I feel somewhat like the character Tom, always trying to see what went wrong in my relationship. Trying to look at the fine details, moments, signals she wasn't feeling committed. When finally, looking past all the great times you've had, and once those Rose-colored lenses (or some might call romantic lenses), you really see some of the flaws.
You end up not hating the person for the flaws, but rather, you realize the compatibility level wasn't there. As they say: "It wasn't meant to be."
It has its funny moments in the film, but the great thing is the "disclaimer" in the beginning: This is not a love story.
If anyone is going through any break ups or constantly posting in "Down in the Dumps" sections, I highly recommend this film. Hopefully it will start something in your mind to think past the emotions, and perhaps, think about your well-being in the long run.
