Soooo, this is potentially a silly question but I've seen people quoting multiple people in one post so that it shows the person's name that they are quoting and such. How do you do this?

Thanks! :)

Normally, you can just go
blah blah blah
(without those extra spaces) and it works. You can also try that "multi" button to the right of the "quote" button. Hang on lemme try to quote you and me at the same time with the button.

Ah, looks like it worked.

So this is really lame. vBulletin has kind of a shitty UI, but here's how it works:

You click that "multi-off" button and it becomes "multi on"

Then, after you've picked all the posts you want to quote, you can hit "quote" on one of the posts, you will see all of them, like you do here.

haha also, it looks like it's broken - it clearly broke when I posted my last thing.

Anyway, there you have it! As a reasonably seasoned software engineer (for my age, anyway), I can say that vBulletin code that i've looked at (which is just the PHP on the site) is a total mess of spaghetti.

I just right click on the quote button and open in a new tab - I do that for each person I want to quote, and then copy and paste them all into one response, after editing out any bits I don't want to quote, etc.

Fusion, you can also middle-click it and it automatically opens in a new tab. :)

Right, you know, in my 6 years on the board I've never seen those buttons or even tried to figure out what they meant.

Now I know, thanks for asking, I do it the manual way and this'll save some time

I'm an old-fashioned kind of guy and will have none of this middle-clicking trickery!!

Oh okay, I learned something new :) - Can't believe I never came across that before!

Dude, that's like the people who click "edit" then "copy" instead of right-clicking (or using ctrl-c). Welcome to the 20th century (you have much to do before reaching the 21st century hehe).

^^^^ No kidding! I've been trying to teach my sis how to copy/paste easily and she just doesn't get it! She does that edit/copy thing, too. Jeez!
