Kissing With Gum

Alright this has happened to me twice before and I've never really thought of putting it here, but anyways here we go:

My girlfriend and I both had gum in our mouths while we were making out, well some heavy make out sessions, but yes an hour after we stopped making out, my gum started to dissolve. My friend told me it happened to him before so I'm thinking its a reaction between the 2 salivas. So has this happened to any of you before? Or does anyone know the exact or real reason this happens?

I think it's cause you have so much saliva going on b/w the two of you, and saliva helps break down food as you chew it, so it must break down the gum as well.

Yeah mine does that too..I always have gum in my mouth when I kiss! I don't really know why but I think i'll just agree with the other people!

Yeah it has something to do with the enzymes in saliva. My friend actually did a project on it, as scary as that is.

It depends. Some gums are just crap and dissolve after an hour or two of chewing.

I always get rid of the gum early on in the make out session. When you make out, you salivate, and the gum sitting in puddles of spit for an hour gets all gross. At least when you chew it for a couple hours, you're not salivating quite as much.
