Theres been like 19 in the last week that are "Hi I'm new here" and "Can someone tell me how to use this board" type posts.

The spammers are not getting more advanced. They are just getting more frequent.
I banned about 70 accounts yesterday, most of which were just a constant stream of registrations between noon and 2pm GMT. Many were blatant bots. Many were less blatant but known bots, recognised by their chosen mailserver, others were repeat spammers with IP addresses identical to or nearly identical to masses of other known spam accounts.
We are banning known spam IP addresses and mailservers, and we are also looking into add-ons for the forum to manage some of this work more automatically.

And hear you whine about how modding ruined your relationship because you have an addictive personality and already spend too much time online? No thanks. :p

Why do they call it an "addictive personality" anyway? Intuitively, that should mean someone charming, whose personality is addictive to others. Like... this is an addictive video game. This is an addictive drug. This person has an addictive personality; I can't get enough of him.

Short for "addictive personality disorder", which makes more sense. :D

There does seem to be quite a lot of spammers on the forum since the last time I visited.
