Every one here has hear about the increasing amount of massive earthquakes… supposedly one of the signs of the end of time.... it’s all over the news…. Earthquakes are rapidly on the rise….. are they really?

This..
DATES FROM & TO PERIOD NO. EARTHQUAKES (Mag. > 6.99)
--------------------------- ----------- ------------------------------
1863 to 1900 incl 38 yrs 12
1901 to 1938 incl 38 yrs 53
1939 to 1976 incl 38 yrs 71
1977 to 2014 incl * 38 yrs 144 (to Sept. 2009) predict >180 in total.

Ref earth.webecs.co.uk/ in reff by CNN

Confirms this right? I think otherwise…. Look at the dates…. This is a worldwide statistic. Do you really think back in the 1900s every earthquake was recoded. What about all the unpopulated areas…. And under the sea…. we have been recording those sense 1980s. and ask yourself this…. What year did they make a seismograph….. and when have they covered 100% of the world with sensors? They haven’t…. there still working on it. What about this…. When did they start trying to cover the world?

So are they on the rise? I think not….. but ill let you make your own choice after you see this
This shows the total amount of shakers in the last 10 years using the same sensors from begging to end, not adding newly placed ones

my thoughts on this I think that we have reached a point in the time where nothing… is normal anymore. in an age of ratings and digital devices. Anyone who owns a tv to a cell phone can know about anything that happens in the world writhen minutes of its occurrence. With the war in Iraq boiling down, and the lack of stories worth blowing out of proportion. On top of government pressure to report the finally found WMD in Iraq ( yea we found ICBMs 6 of them ready to carry nukes and 30 with anthrax/ biochem warheads, burred in western Iraq…… the deserts a big place) I think that news companys have began to look for more lifes and stories to use as there playthings to line their wallet.

Oh yeah,
can't convince me that we are not step a closer to Armageddon then before I was born.
As much as the experts may argue, no one knows exactly when the end is coming.
Still, our world is different than it was just a few years ago. Even more, the further you look back.

I would think, nature disasters are just part of the equation of the end times. Though, I have a feeling, it is not the number of earthquakes, but the magnitude and destruction of the ones we witness in recent times. I suppose, in the big picture, it may be several events which contribute to the end of world as we know it. I suspect, the likely hood of that happening in our life time, may be almost not existent. However, I wouldn’t bet it.

Though, I agree the power of money influences a lot of what we see and hear.

Hmmm, WMD.
Interesting, what I remember, back during the earlier days of 9/11. Being, in the Midwest, I recall the sentiment of those around me. al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, WTF!!! Let us, nuke the bastards!!! At which all eyes where on Afghanistan. Then we listen to our president. And as such, all attention reverted to Iraq. And where are we now? Are we any closer today to executing the guilty parties?

I have alot of religious beliefs, so I actually believe that the Antichrist will be coming out of the middle east. Also that the world will most likely be ending before the year 2100. The bible talks about the mark of the beast and how it will be put on those who follow the antichrist. The funny thing is, that was a unimaginable idea about 10 years ago. Now there is actually technology to implant a chip in your forehead and wrist.

yea......ok there.

as many as folks that are scared of that, thew will never implament something like that. and plus. the $$$ that it would cost to get a chip, barcode, or something of the sort inplanted would coust the GOVT so fucking much. and the politacal backlash on that would really stir things up.

and plus... all you got to do is say... hey... put it on the left.

RFID chips are cheap and they've already been tested as implants. 'Chipping' an entire nation is well within the realm of physical possibility. Selling it as something other than Orwellian dystopia is a heck of a spin-job though.

Oh and, i'm not religious, but I thought the "end of the world" was supposed to be somewhere around 2150 when we shift from the age of Pisces (Jesus) to Aquarius. ? Oh well.

PS: Before anyone brings up that stupid movie, no the Mayan calendar doesn't end in 2012. It just adds another digit.

Don't worry, there is a ridiculous end-of-the-world scare every few years. Eventually, a huge asteroid will probably wipe us out (if we don't do it to ourselves first, which it seems we are very capable of), out of sheer coincidence, and I'm sure some nutjobs will find a way to correlate it with something in the Bible. I have better ways to spend the last of my days though. :)

although the Bible (I'm assuming when you use the term "end times" you mean from a christian standpoint) does say there will be earthquakes, war, famine etc in the End of Days those are not the most important signs. The creation of the state of Israel is MUCH more significant from a biblical prophecy standpoint. The Temple Institute trying to rebuild the temple and breed red heifers etc is also significant (see www.templeinstitute.org/main.htm )

I'm not trying to start a theological debate, just pointing out that earthquakes are not the most important sign of "End Times" from a christian standpoint. It's just a lot sexier to talk about massive earthquakes, death, and destruction than plastic bubble boys in Israel being raised to be temple priests and breeding a bunch of red cows.
