Why lead you on?

Why in sam hell would a female friend of a man lead him on if she didn't really like him? Why entertain him? Why tell him she likes him? Why lie?

What happened? I can think of a few scenarios where it's not really a lie, unless you frame it the wrong way.

(1) Because the man misunderstands liking someone for wanting to be in a relationship.

(2) Because something happened and she changed her mind.

(3) Because attention is da bomb, and a guy who thinks you like him "like that" will give it up by the metric tonne.

(2.) That is a possibility. Possibly other guys but do women stop liking one guy who they've liked for a long time if another comes into the picture? I didn't think so.

(3.) I could have given her too much attention? Possibility.

Of course they do! Why would women not have it in them to do that? I'd say that because guys have to make the majority of the moves, girls get the majority of the "attention" that they didn't specifically ask for... it just falls out of the sky for them... so why would you expect that they wouldn't go from one to the next, until they find one they really, really want to latch onto?
