Girls and Flowers...

Okay, we know we all swoon when the guy we like gets us flowers... but come on, admit it... roses aren't very orignal are they? Gorgeous and expensize, yes, but does it really require that much thought to go a buy a dozen roses? Naaaah...

Now, what personally makes me melt completely is when a guy buys me, not just typical flowers (daisies, roses, carnations; etc)... but when he remembers or learns my favorite type of flowers and buys me those... Because that means he has been paying enough attention to me to know or remember what my favorite flower is and that makes the gift even more meaningful...

So, girls (or guys :wink: ), what's your favorite flower and have you ever received it from a guy (or girl :lol: )?

Me, I adore Gladiolas... And for my birthday last year (or was it two years ago :o ) my ex got me a half dozen assorted Galds and left them in my locker at school with a really sweet note attached...

I don't know that I really have a favorite flower...I've gotten roses a couple times, but I do really like tulips.....have I ever received them? Yea right.....not yet. It's more romantic to me when he does cute stuff like remember anniversaries or silly little things, I think flowers are overrated personally *shrugs*

-you're getting laid with a hot chic
- she's cool/fun/easygoing enough to show up naked with beer (i.e. it says somethinig about who she is)
-you get a free sixpack of beer

That is so true and very well stated.

My 2 favorite flowers are roses and daisies. My bf has once ordered a mix vase of red roses and daisies which I thought was really sweet because he thought to mix them.

It's ultimately about the thought behind the flowers and not the flowers themselves that mean so much to a girl.

I love those orange roses with the red/crimson tips. I think those are the best to get, then tulips then posibly carnations, but carnations are more some thing you give a friend. I have gotten red roses for my birth day once from this huge crush of mine, I was in 3rd grade. Ha ha well that was my first gift of roses any ways. He also gave me x man trading cards! He knew just what I wanted. lol :lol:

First date always keep it simple if you are going to bring flowers... Not a type of flower that has special meaning generally attached to it (like roses)... Daises, carnations, your own hand picked wildflowers... And a small amount...

At that point in your relationship it's just the thought behind it that counts... When in doubt keep it small and simple... Simplicity is often more beautiful then extravagent...

Gotta admit, I'm a sucker for flowers too.
They don't fix EVERYthing but they sure do help.
My favorite are white roses, and I also like the different colored roses, like multis, or orange, etc.
Any flowers are nice to get.
Once this guy I was dating opened my car door for me to get in, and there was a rose on the seat. Sweet!

Call me old fashioned but I have bought girls a dozen roses or single roses, I usually end up getting them white ones for some reason.....

So my favorite flower is a rose.........

When I go on a first date with a girl, I always get her one flower. It's usually a white rose or some colorful flower. I don't like getting red roses, I just find then plain. I look for the one flower that sets all the others apart. Then again, I don't want the flower to be the climax of the date.

One of the nightclubs I go to gives out single roses during the night, for guys to give to girls. But I don't bother, b/c I think it's unoriginal.

I reckon the only time to give flowers to a girl are on certain occasions, ie. your first date b/c you're unlikely to know what else to get her, when you're feeling apologetic, and on Valentine's day as part of a bigger gift.
