this might be the wrong forum....hmm....move it if you want
i just bought some epil-stop & spray, and i know alot of people in here shave (at least their legs, if not certain other parts) and i was wondering if it actually works, and how well on different parts of your body? im mostly interested in legs and bikini line, this stuff was expensive so i hope it works, but i'd like to have some opinions before i put it on me so i don't burn my skin off or anything. thanks.

I've never heard of it, but since there's always the possibility of reaction, whether it works for other people or not, try it on a small area of skin first and wait a while before continuing.

All I know about the stuffis that it didnt seem to do a damn thing to the hair on my legs, and that it had the most god-awful smell....

well i tried it, i have to say it works alot better than nair or any of the similar stuff i've tried, but i had to leave it on for longer than the absolute maximum amount of time, THEN put it on again for about that long, and it still missed alot of hair, and my legs (which were already kind of dry and irritatediy (they always are) are still kind of burning. it didn't work that well on my armpits at all. oh well. don't waste your money on it, unless you have really fine hair or something.

Aww man! I was hoping that stuff would work. I know that Nads isn't like it says in the commercial. My friend bought and her skin dried out for about two weeks. And her brother, who is a swimmer and had to be completly hairless for state, used the stuff too. He said it was horrible and wouldn't recommend it, he said it was worse then waxing. I wish I could find something that is has painful as waxing, but ya get the same affect.

I personally just shave. I mean, it *really* doesn't take that long. And yeah, you might get teeny knicks on your knees, but they're hardly noticeable.

the worst problem for me is just that shaving drys out my skin sooo much, and it itches, and i end up scratching it, which results in all kinds of sores and scars and rashes and so on and so forth. i was hoping that maybe by not having to remove hair as often my legs would get a chance to heal up and look good for once. i might try waxing, it just looks soooo painful. especially around like my ankle and bikini line, where it always hurts if i try to pull out a hair.

what i've always wondered is if epil stop (and related products) supposedly does such a great job of dissolving hair, what are the long term effects on the skin?

Nads isnt' that painful if you do it properly. any wax will be painful. Actually, nads is less painful, because you don't have to put boiling wax on your skin on the first place!

There are no long term effects on the skin. these have been around for years and no one really has problems with the skin on their legs b/c of this type of product.

my skin got irritated for a while, just because of the harsh chemicals on my dry skin, but there aren't any long term effects. skin is constantly replenishing itself. maybe if you're allergic to it it could cause a problem, i don't know

Hey I've used Nads, I didn't have a problem with it. It was great, I mean it's way better than using hot wax. I mainly only used it for eyebrows and bikini line though, I didn't bother with my legs. Shaving works fine.
I used "Veet" the other day, a hair removal cream, for my bikini line, it actually worked. Apart from the cream smelling bad, it was painless and easy.
Never heard of Epil-stop.
