And it's fantastic! lol my boyfriend and I broke up just about a month ago.. and last night.. for the first time like..EVER.. i went to a pub with the intentions of well.. trying to pick up a boy.
My best friend and I went to this pub/restaurant and had supper.. and were checking out this group of guys the whole time. There were about 8 of them.. and they were french.. and had the short cropped hair cuts.. so we figured that meant they were RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) recruits... since there was a whole group of them.. and given the haircuts and the fact that we live where the RCMP training academy is it was a good guess.
So we had our supper.. all the while "casually" (i like to think we weren't being obvious but now that I think of it it was so obvious it's not even funny) checking them out... then the bills came..and they were getting up to leave and one of them said hi to us and told us to have a good night. So we returned the gesture and was thinking it was going to end there.
Well they started re-arranging tables in the pub so my friend and I had to move (this was like 2 minutes after the guys got up and left) so we went into the main area and thought MAYBE.. just MAYBE they were still there... and 4 of them were.. standing by the door. So we went.. sat down at a different table and smiled at them... then... this is where the 15 all over again starts... they smiled back and we started giggling like idiots haha But apparently it worked cause they came over and bought us drinks.. and we spent the rest of the night with them!
I know this happens all the time to people.. but I guess to put it into context for you... my boyfriend and I had been dating for 4 years (very amicable break-up) and anyone i've ever dated before has always been a friend first so I've never really been pursued by a boy... or "picked up" before. So it was pretty exciting for me!
We left.. he kissed me... and said he'd like it if we could get together again... we exchanged phone numbers and he called me today! i'm so happy.. it's ridiculous!
