OK, so I have about 50-60 ft of 1.5 inch masking tape applied to the metal molding around a swimming pool. I can't get it off. I tried goo gone + a scour pad...no effect.

Please help! Need suggestions!

I'm gonna hit it up with a power washer. It should strip it right off.

I hope.

Not a bad idea. Wish I'd thought of it.

sounds like an excuse to play around with the power washer...

Well the power washer was an epic failure. However, I sprayed the tape with some goo gone and let it sit for awhile, and the tape started coming off pretty easily scraping with a credit card. But then it got dark and I couldn't see, so I still have more to do...

I'm actually going to try the power washer one more time with a different nozzle. This nozzle concentrates all the water into a straight beam instead of a 45 degree angle spray. It'll be way more powerful, and might be enough.

But I'm not holding my breath.

Maybe you and the tape will have to learn to agree to disagree :D

um, no one's asked the obvious - what the hell did you tape up your pool for???

I was staining the deck around the pool. The metal molding comes right up next to the wood, so I taped it as to not get any stain on it.

Try some brake cleaner if you have it handy - just don't get any on the wood!! :p

A heat gun (aka giant hairdrier) and a razor is your surefire way to slowly peel it all off though.
