I got to thinking to myself this late night
Whats the hardest thing to go through
You'd come up with a plethora of answers
Well I thought, pondered and inquired
I came up with one thing, a single thing

Time

What can over come time, its always there
Its there no matter what, day in day out
Patient or impatient time is there

I've looked ahead into my usually grim future
And I see a long haul of time as my opponent
I see the trial, the gauntlet set down before me
A shift in the fabric of space and time won't help
Cause its a wait, a hold off, for time is there

Holding it back for what seems like eternity
An eternity till happiness forcomes
Probably a trial of the likes I've never seen
But the reward for accomplishment, are great

In the end, a few hundred miles and a year
Is what it comes down too
Its like asking an addict, to stop for a year
Can it be done? God I hope so

The toughest thing I'll ever do, is time's trial.

Time goes a lot faster then we all think...still it seems like the good times pass all too quick and time always slows down during our hardships...Very good poem Mav, and don't think of time as your enemy...use it to your advantage....keep writing. 8)

Wow, Mav, I was really intrigued by your concept in your poem. I have to agree that I also have always marveled about time. The meaning of time, what it really is, and how it never seems to cease. There are so many things to think about, so many things to question about the concept of time. Who ever really understands it? All we know is "Time flies when you're having fun" and it seems to disappear right from underneath you. Once a second passed, that's it. It comes and goes... Wow, basically, lol, I wanted to say it's a really great poem. I look forward to reading more of your works!! Keep it up!!
