I have a question. Lately, I've noticed that around that time of the month, I get very bad headaches and cramps, things of that sort. And then when I am on my period I bleed very heavily, more than normal. I've been told, that often whenever you go to a doctor with these symptoms, that they will usually put you on Birth Control of some sort. I was wondering if anyone here has ever experienced this. And if so, what did you end up doing about it? Any input would be helpful.

One of my friends gets REALLY bad cramps and she went to the doctor but shes only 13 so they didn't put her on the pill, they gave her perscription pain killers instead. But they said in the future she may need an operation (sorry if I scared ya) Sorry, but that's all I know on the subject

Hope I helped

I haven't had this, but a close friend of mine had horrible cramps, so bad to where she would have to leave school in the middle of the day because she could barely stand up. She went to a nurse practinoer (sorry I know I didn't spell that one right), and they put her on birth control. She's been on it since the fall and she's 90% better than before. It's cut her period down to 3 days (before it was 7) and she hardly has any more cramps. Good luck!

see a doctor, it could be something worse like ovarian cysts, an infection or even worse posible ovarian cancer.

better safe than sorry.

*remembers her terrible experiences with ovarian cysts*

go to a doctor. likely, you'll get the pill, and good for you. your parents will prolly pay for it.

[tries to decipher what her boyfriend has told her about his ex...] She went on the mini-pill because she got lots of little bubbly-cystlike things on her ovaries from ovulation till when she got her period. So, naturally, she had nasty cramps, and the likeness. And after she went on the mini-pill, the amount of those things reduced drastically, so she got less painful, less heavy periods.

i started my periods when i was 11 and i've always had really bad cramps. At first mum thought it was because i had only just started but when i was 13 she took me to the doctor and she put me on the mini-pill and that made my cramps a little easier to live with but they were still a pain in the butt. the doctor wouldn't put me on the pill straight away because she said a was abit too young but eventually when i was 15 she put me on it and i've been on it ever since.
since i've been on it the cramps have almost dissapeared but when i do have them they are really painfull so i've always got spare paracetamol with me.
make sure if they are really bad that you take plenty of paracetamol and get an appointment with the Doc.
