Classification of a "slut"

Not sure this goes here, but it involves sex and sexual acts, so we'll see. I was just curious, to guys and girls, what to you makes a girl slutty? I've heard different things, to me it's how many guys a girl has sexual relations with and how "easy" she is, if you will. Also, I think it depends on if it's just one night stands or if it's serious relationships. I've been called a slut and only ever been with one guy, so I guess I don't consider myself one. How about everyone else?? What's slutty to you?

to me, a slut is a girl who sleeps around ALOT. i mean, i'm all for the occasional guy friends. Those with whom I know I would never have a relationship with, but I would sleep with them maybe once, at the most twice(unless i thought there was a chance of relationship). But a slut to me is someone who sleeps with any guy she can nail, on a regular basis. I've been called a whore and I myself have only slept with one guy, and it was a guy i did and still do truly love. Everyones opinions differ tho.

meh, I'm not a fan of calling anyone a 'slut', but I think some girls act 'slutty,' as in, they wear horribly revealing clothes and throw themselves at guys (often because they have so little self-esteem and self-respect that they feel all they can offer is themselves physically, and that's all the contact they can take).

But as for the patriachal label of a "slut", fuck it. The only time I'd ever use it is if I was refering to a guy as well as a girl.

I hate the word 'slut' and never use it. It's so anti-female. And there's such a double standard implied. Girls who have slept around get called sluts while guys get called players, which doesn't have nearly the same negative connotation.
People should stop judging women so harshly.

If you ask a girl who she has had sex with in the last week, and she can't remember, then I would consider her a slut. Either that, or when you ask her who she has had sex with, and she asks for a piece of paper and a calculator, then I would assume she is a slut.

I only use it as a mental definition for divergence. I would never call someone a slut, though calling a guy a "player" seems to be a compliment nowadays, because I think it is rather low to call someone that. What they do in their own free time is none of my business. Whether it's gathering at the local library for a group study session or running an our-of-home escort service, that's their business not mine.

I would NOT consider a girl a slut if she slept with someone on a first date, assuming that there was a relationship to go into there.

Whenever someone calls a male a slut, it's either to boost their ego or to joke around. When someone calls a female a slut, it's usually meant to be mean. Even if males are called sluts, it's still not the same. The word is sexist and unfair, even if you use it on both sexes.

Hmm..I don't really consider anyone a slut, just someone with major self-esteem issues or someone with a major sex drive who just happens to get what they want. (Though it's usually the former. :roll:)

I believe the term "slut" is applicable to both males and females. I am always calling males I know who sleep around "sluts", and to me, a male slut is a total turn-off. If I know he's had sex with a HUGE number of girls that will immediately turn me off him and I would avoid him. As well as lose respect for him.
I don't like the term. I would never use it on a girl. I use it on guys because when I say to them, "You slut," they don't even take offence. It usually just translates into "stud". To me, a girl has to have sex with a HUGE amount of guys to be considered a slut. Also, her attitude has a lot to do with it. Someone who will just fuck anyone and anything, anything that's dished out to her, that's gross. Someone who will go after someone else's boyfriends and husbands knowingly, that is low.

I prefer the word "skank" anyway.

I personally feel the same way about guys being defined as a slut too. If they do the things that go along with the title then they should also be called sluts. I've always hated that because a girl wants to have sex, she is branded as a slut, whore and other names but when a guy does it, he's called cool for it. My earlier classification of a slut applies to guys the same way it does to girls.

The word 'slut' has always bothered me. I've been called a slut because every time I break up with someone, I go out with someone new like a couple of days later. I don't really care what other people say about me because I am very proud of who I am, but I just don't understand how people are comfortable judging others based on their sex lives. Personally I don't mind people having sex as long as no one gets hurt. After all, your bedroom behaviour is nobody's business, but your own! As long as you can face yourself at the end of the day and thats all the matter. You don't have to care how the society think of you. I mean, why would you get angry about someone's ignorance?

It's kinda sad that when a guy screws around he's considered 'cool' or 'macho', but when a girl does, it's considered slutty or skanky. I think that words like' slut', 'whore', 'bitch', 'skanky ass' are used too casually. They're not just annoying, they're truely insluting and degarding.

It's to do with sex - but I think there are a lot of SLUTS who don't ahve a lo of sex. Just the ones who wear TONS of makeup and are after every guy.

Yeah I know what you mean! I wear the clothes I wear because I think I have a body to do so and I feel comfortable with them, so I can't find any reason not to wear revealing clothes sometimes!

To me a person is a slut if they sleep with multiple partners for the wrong reasons and irresponsibly, like without good protection and putting themselves at risk to have a "good time". And I don't think it's sexist...not for me anyway. I have no respect for guys who sleep around either.

I disagree. I think confidence is being able to wear clothes that make you look good without showing off everything you've got to anyone who wants to take a look. Have some tact and respect for yourself...It's not the body in the clothes that matters, but if you dress provocatively that's all that people are going to care about when they see you.
