There's been plenty of weight threads, but none on height.. I'm just wondering.. does height matter to you?

For me, I'm short, so you bet your ass it matters.. and really eliminates a lot of tall chicks from my selection (not that I care).

Height is nothing... I wouldn't mind dating a guy shorter than me (although I might tease him about it). My boyfriend is a few mere inches taller than me... my ex is a head and a half taller than me. As I said, it doesn't really matter.

Just like everyone else has said, I like a guy to be the same height or taller than me by a few inches. (I'm 5'5). I would feel wierd dating a guy that was shorter than me because I could never wear high heels and I like wearing my heels!!
I think it's cute when a guy is the same height as me, but it's even better when he's taller because when we hug, it makes me feel like I'm bieng "protected" and I love feeling like that! :mrgreen: :D :D :wink: :o

I'm 5'9", and my current gf is almost my height (she's half an inch shorter than me).

Personally, I don't really like short girls. I have this major fetish for tall girls (girls my height or taller).

In the past, I've had a girlfriend who was 5'11", and one who was an even 6 feet tall. When she wore heels, she was 6'4"! :lol:

well as the generall concensus is, girls like taller guys, and guys like shorter girls. I'm the same. I'm 6foot when i stand up properly, and to be honest with u i'd like to be 6'2'', but i'm really glad i'm not small. I like being taller than the ppl around me, like some said, it makes u feel commanding. Well i'm 17, and ive grown 2 inches in the last 5 months since i started eating more, so i'm hopeful that i'll grow that little bit more! wish me luck!

I like short guys, but I've never actually dated one. The few boyfriends, per se, that I have had have been 6', 5'11", and 6'3" or 4" (I forget which). Somehow I always end up with tall guys, even though I prefer short ones. *shrugs* There's just something about being able to hug or kiss a guy WITHOUT having to have him stoop and me stand on my tiptoes that I like :P.

As it is, my height is a source of many not-so-affectionate nicknames. Midget, Mini-Midget (I don't get it, really), Dwarf, Shorty, Girl Who Gets Handicapped Parking (apparently, if I were legally a midget, which some think I am, I would be eligible for handicapped parking)... and my personal favourite, Leprechaun.

My 6'3" guitar player cannot have a conversation with me for more than five minutes without making at least one short joke. It usually results in him being punched. :P

I always liked taller guys, though it never mattered much to me anyway...since I'm only 5'5 and often like to wear shoes that make me 5'8 or taller. :P ..my height or taller for a guy is kewl with me...height shouldn't really matter to anyone unless you have two extremes, like a girl that's 5'2 and a guy that's 6'4, that would definetely make kissing more difficult hehe...but like ckgirl said, you feel protected or something when he's a bit taller..its like more romantic that way ya know. :)

I'm 6'1" or 6'2". Somewhere in there. I am probably going to grow two more inches though, which I'm not sure I like. I like being this height though, because it gives a sense of power when you do something, and it makes walking down a crowded high school hallway a hell of a lot easier. People tend to get out of the way if they are smaller than you.

Other peoples height doesn't bother me, as long as the girl isn't freakishly tall (read 7' 6"), but I guess that's because most girls are shorter than me anyway. Actually, I know at least one girl who is about an inch taller than me that I find attractive.

Think of the negatives- being called "midget" on a daily basis, having other people use your head as an armrest, having a helluva time playing any musical instruments because your hands are tiny like the rest of ya, having people think you're twelve when you're actually eighteen, having to pull the seat all the way forward just to drive and still sometimes not being able to quite reach the pedals, sitting there in class while your feet fall asleep because they don't reach the floor from your chair... welcome to my world. :o

I'm 5'3", so height isn't a huge issue for me. I rarely come across guys who are shorter than I am. It's more of a problem with tall guys....there's that whole neck-craning thing. That's kind of uncomfortable. 5'8" is about the right height, give or take a couple inches.

My ex is 5'11" and the one I'm dating at the moment is about 6'1" or taller. Lol.. the thought of a guy hitting puberty at 20 is well.. funny. Anyway, 17, 18? That's still off.. Unless by 'hit'.. you mean 'wrap up'.. and most guys usually finish around 18-20. But guys on average usually start in middle school..

Anyway, I'm 15.. and I do have another growth spurt or two to hit.. but I doubt I'll be taller than 5'6"-ish... besides, that doesn't change the fact I'm still short now.

Hey Lava- if it's any consolation, when my dad was your age (heh, why I did I think you were way older than that?), he was 4'9" and briefly wrestled in the 85-pound weight class before becoming a band geek :P. Anyway, he's 5'6" now, so there's hope for all of ya. :o

I think what she means is that, while girls tend to only have a fairly brief growth spurt when they first hit puberty, a lot of guys just keep on growing until they're, like, 20. Hell, my freaking "growth spurt" was slightly less than an inch and a half.

Unless it's at an extreme on either end of the scale (4' & under or 6'6" & over - for a female) then height doesn't matter to me. I can still remember the day in middle school when I asked out this girl Lisa and she said to my face that she wouldn't go out with me 'cause I was too short. I wouldn't want to do that to someone. The ideal height for me is 5'8 because you can put on heels and look him in the eye, and you can "get down" from your post and rest your head on his shoulder.

i was never tall, but maybe cause my back got screwed up during weight training back in highschool. Realisitically I should be 5'9" but I am only a measly 5'7 1/2"...to to tall, not to short, but for me I wish I were a little bit taller, I wish I were a baller
