All right, heres the deal. I graduate from high school on June 13th. That's also the week I'm due to have my period. Wonderful. Now, I don't want to skip it, I want to delay it. Can I do this:
Take my pills until then, and then instead of starting the green ones on that Sunday before I graduate, can I open up another pack and take some of the light blue pills until Wednesday or Thursday (it never comes the day after I stop taking them) (which would be 4 of them I guess), so it would delay it. The day after I begin taking the green pills. The next month I would just take the rest of the green pills as soon as I was supposed to. So one month I'd take extra blue pills to delay it, and the next month I'd take the extra green ones instead. I'd also make sure not to have sex from when I start taking the extra blue pills to when I get my next period (july something). Would this work? Or should I just delay the thing completely and not get it at all? Any experiances?

I don't have any experience in the department, but I wouldn't do it, for the sake of not screwing with my body (then again, I'm not on the pill for that same reason).

just skip it altogether, it's much easier

Yes - of course you can.

But then you'll have a shorted cycle next month unless you open up another pack of pills to keep it to 21 days - that's a lot of hassle.

I'd definately advise against skipping the whole thing - it doesn't do any harm, but when I did it I got really bad cramps.

I would say skip it altogether. Generally you're better off thinking about something like this FURTHER IN ADVANCE. that way, three months or so in advance, you can just start skipping the "Off days" you stop taking real pills for long enough to induce a period (three days off) and then you start up again with the next pack.

In your situation, you don't have enough time to build up a long enough time frame, so just skip this period altogether. You MAY get cramps. Some people do, some don't. Just know that that's a risk factor. If you fuck with the actual CYCLE that the pills put you under, then you can mess up your body chemistry worse. That is, taking some of the pills, and then having the period, nd then taking more pills, but less than a full pack will screw up your body chemistry morethan skipping the period altogether.

the thing is, I get bad cramps now with my regular period (3 months into taking the pill). how much worse are they?

I can't answer that for you. I VERY rarely get cramps, and never since I got on BC. It generally helps to lessen them. Like I said, you might get worse ones, and you might get none at all.

When I skipped the whole period, they were quite bad - but from what I hear most people actually don't have any side effects - so I suppose it's different for everyone.
