I just started taking the pill. I know you need to take them 24 hours apart. So, I took my first one around 4 PM. The continued this for 3 days, and tonight I forgot, so I took it as soon as I remembered (which was 7 hours late). I can already see that I am defiantely not going to be in a place in which I will be able to remember that I need to take my pill. So my question for you ladies is: what time do you girls take it, and do you use any tactics to remind you every day?

My logical thing to do would be to take it every morning (because I keep the pills in my underwear drawer) But I wake up around 6 on weekdays, and around 9 or 10 on weekends, so I dont know if that time difference would be significant).

So, please tell my your times and techniques to remember to take it, and for any pill experts: would the time difference between weekdays and weekends be OK? Thanks girls.

well, i'm not a girl. but from research into the pill i found that it's not recommended to be more than an hour each side of that time more than once a month.

so regularily being a few hours later each week will NOT be advisable. the pill puts hormones into your body, 24hrs worth. to keep the level of hormones up enough to keep you safe, they need to be taken at the same time each day.

if you're later, then you won't be safe. if you want to do that, the guy should wear a condom.

take it at other times then. gradually move to an easier time to remember. maybe 12pm lunch. or 6pm dinner. something that WILL be the same each day.

supe's a bucketful of info on this.

I would suggest getting a watch with an alarm that it set for a time that is usually conveniant for you to take the pill. If you don't have one already, they ar elike 10 dollars. It was the only way I could remember to take the pill when I was on it.

I take it every night at 10pm! it's the easiest for me to remember because everyday at 10pm I'm in my pjs and I take all my makeup and jewellery off and my pills and water are on the dresser so I know to take one :)

I used to take it at 11pm every night. It was like a ritual every night before I went to bed. Like you, I didn't want to take it in the morning because I was getting up at different times during the week. However, when I was taking at night, I did find that when I went out for the night I wouldn't get home till all hours of the morning and that's when I'd take my pill. Which was bad.

So then I was off the pill for a little while, then when I got back on it I changed to taking it 11am every day. Which has been going really well. I start work at 12 noon most days, and 11:30 on sundays, and I'm usually out of bed and still at home at 11, so that's worked out a good time for me.

Don't worry though, I'm the most forgetful and disorganized person in the world, and although I do forget sometimes I'm not doing bad. Maybe you just have to work out a little tactic to remind you to take it. Is there something you do at the same time every day? If you take your pill at the same time as you do that, you'll remember. And just remember to use condoms when you forget. It's not that bad, you only have to used condoms for a week after you forget, then it's back to normal.

yep, it was the watch alarm for me, every night at 11. If I was going out, I'd take it with me. the watch alarm, I think, is one of the best ways to have it on a CONSISTENT time every day.

and just so you know now, when daylight savings time comes around again, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT! if you take your pill at 11 one day, just take it at 11 the next. the one hour difference won't matter, and you'll just continue being consistent at the "new" time.

I take it when I go to bed.
Don't listen to me though, ebcause I always forget! The worst part of taking it before bed, is if you forget, it's a long time before you remember. Not good!

Another problem is if I'm stopping out late. I try to take it BEFORE I go out when that's the case, but again, it's easy to forget!

I take mine at 8:15 every morning. Like you, I also get up later on the weekends, but I still set my alarm for 8:15, wake up, take the pill, and go back to sleep. I've got my pills and waterbottle on/in my nightstand, so I don't even have to get out of bed. It's very easy.

Ok, Well, Like I said I have been doing my best to take it at 4 every day after school. However, I defiantely like the before bed idea better because even on weekends, my curfew is midnight, so taking it at 11 should not be a problem. I saw a post recently about this, but i cant find it: how should I go about changing my time? gradually an hour a day or something.. 2 hours a day... see, I got a very limited over view from the doctor. Thanks guys.

i always have mine when i have my breakfast, even though i wake up at different times.
i'm a freak because i can't swallow any tablet with water - even the pill which is smaller than this - O . i have to poke them inside sandwiches n biscuits n stuff
anyway - as long as you have your tablet within 6hrs of ur normal time, u'd be ok. the good thing with the size of the packet is that u can put it in ur purse and no-one would notice so as long as you remember to take your tablet with you, you'll be ok.

I also just take mine in the mornings, before I go off to school. As for weekends, well I'm not too much of a late sleeper so it doesn't really differ that much, maybe only about 2hours at the most.

You're alright with the pill as long as you take it within 12 hours of the time your're supposed to.

I take it in the mornings - weekdays about 8am, weekends about 12pm. (when i get up)
